Finishing off dem ep 1s:

Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi - Strong fantasy setting and first ep narrative, looking forward to the rest of the show. /admits to massive bias in favor of the author of the LNs

R-15 - Doesn't really have a lot to recommend it. The basic premise is vaguely hilarious in and of itself, but they appear to be going nowhere with it. Only brief highlight was the camerawoman reading some of the main character's stories in a wonderfully disinterested tone.

Manyuu Hikenchou - Wow, what the ****. This show is so much messed up than Qwaser - both in terms of subject matter, and in that the uncensored version still has more censoring than anything else you'll see. Like Qwaser, I think the story is going to be more solid than people will give it credit for, and the production values are pretty good, but it is still totally unacceptable.

Dantalian no Shoka - Fantastic combination of a very unique setting (ignoring the I've-seen-that-somewhere-else-recently idea of a girl with thousands of books trapped within her) with some more common trending elements. Sawashiro Miyuki's affected performance as Dalian is an interesting choice, full of flavor.

Kaiji s2: ep16

I don't know how or why, but this show makes me jump up and down with glee about watching some little metal balls falling through the hole in a ceramic plate. I don't think I would be this excited if I was literally on fire.

The Idolm@ster ep 2 - if anyone wants to try to tell me that that wasn't an entirely heartwarming episode, then piffle to them. It's a shame that there is an inevitable drop off from the first episode due to the move to a standard "non-concept" episode structure, but you understand why they've done it. Current runners-up: Azusa and Ritsuko.

And that is what I find so fascinating about Saikano, looking at regular people dealing with their lives whilst facing annihilation, it was never going to be an easy watch but a very interesting one nonetheless.

I agree Orgun, seeing how people try and cope in such circumstances is what makes the show worth watching (the manga is a good read as well).
