Fortune Arterial: Akai Yakusoku episodes 1-5

It's quite good so far and the opening for it is brilliant :)

Shakugan no Shana S episode 4

What a great end to the ova and it's making me look forward more for the third season as there was a teaser trailer at the end ^_^

Invincible Steel Man Daitarn 3 - Episodes 7 & 8

Episode was the best episode so far, in that it was good rather than average, it was still generic super robot but there was a bit more to the story and better action this time.

Red Garden 1-6

There's a lot to like about this show, particularly the striking character and costume designs. An interesting look (providing it doesn't stray into full-blown Requiem From the Darkness style surrealism) is always a plus point. And so far the characters have been well written and believable.

Mostly--I can't decide whether or not they're overdoing the angst a bit. And, really, must you all break out into song like that? This ain't a musical.

Only the foolish would determinedly go against the word of God and then start an anime that repeats itself until it becomes worse than American teen girl rubbish. Foolish, foolish, foolish fool.

...Then again, it was the fool who inadvertently got this one to buy and watch Red Garden. What does that make me?

Re-watched the SAO movie. My 8/10 rating remains intact. The first 40 or so minutes covered the Chun arc superbly; the removal of the small amount of comedy present in the manhwa and otherwise faithful execution pleasing me. The remainder of the film did have a few negatives due to the mandrake island section getting extended/re-worked to fit - the main offender being a 'filler' ninja woman and her so-so duel with Chun - but it still ended the same way; with an excellent twist that, originally, caught me cold. An underrated (compared to the manhwa) and very nice intro to SAO - it having got me into SAO proper.

NuraMago 20 - the show has kind of meandered a lot during this arc, and this ep was no different. Coming towards the end now, and it should be better over the last few episodes, but I hope they do season 2 (if it happens) a bit better.

Fortune Arterial ep 6 - definitely the least interesting episode so far imo, every other character in the show is better than the sisters. Not bad per se, but I know the series has a lot more potential to provide something a bit less "standard" than this episode.

Losing track of what I have and haven't posted about @_@

OreImo ep 7 - excellently adapted episode, they have given volume 3 a lot better pacing than they did volume 2. The girls' impression of each other was particularly well handled.

Milky Holmes ep 7 - a definite change of pace, which worked, this ep. Love the G-4, need more of them all the time.

Fairy Tail ep 54 - Jinkies! Crazy things happening. Really enjoyable episode, and now more than ever I can't wait to get around to the arc about whatever happened to the Dragons.

Yosuga no Sora ep 7 - Actually a lot better this week, probably just because of Sora's increased involvement. Still not exactly firing on all cylinders, though.

Otome Youkai Zakuro ep 7 - At this point, I no longer expect anything other than greatness each week from this show, and it delivers every time. Zakuro herself was particularky outstanding this week.

Ika-musume ep 7 - A strange ep this week, I thought. Didn't have the flat spot that it usually does, but at the same time never massively made me laugh either... until the very end, which was hilarious.

Imouto episode 7 - ... yay for Ruri in the first part though.
Kind of still a spoiler imo, dude.

Invincible Steel Man Daitarn 3 - Episodes 9 & 10

Episode 10 was another above average episode with plenty of decent action.

A quarter of the way in and Daitarn 3 is bog standard super robot, generic monster of the week episodes and plenty of re-used transformation and super move animation but so far it isn't anywhere near as silly as I had read about and while I am enjoying it I am finding a tad repetitive so I may have to break it up with something else.

I suppose, though it wasn't like she wasn't going to appear in the anime again.
Either I'm very confused, or you are - I just meant that her real name is still a spoiler.

Heartcatch Precure 1-6
So it is indeed actually bloody good, fantastic character designs. ED uses obvious CG that doesn't look like eyecancer. Plot is typical mahou shoujo, toy whoring, transformation scenes, heart powered superpowers etc.
The characters aren't anoying for once. It's monster of the week; the monsters being manifestations of their classmates anxieties, which isn't too bad.
Favourite scene so far was Cure Marine getting petrified mid epic reaction face.

Why the hell is this DVD only, the 720p broadcast is godawsome, bloody Toei.

Macross 7 eps 1-8
My god is this epic, sure it's full of reused sequences and filler but it's still awsome.
Why did Macross have to get stuck in licensing hell. Macross is one of the older franchises that's actualy good/unique enough to still release.

Watched Sengoku Basara 1-13 over the last three days. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought! It was over-the-top, but damn it was funny and brilliantly animated over-the-top!

I think my copy of that arrived in the post today, haven't actually opened the box yet, lol. Glad to see other people enjoying it, but I would be shocked if the manga came out in English (having said that, I was pretty surprised that the Seikon no Qwaser manga started coming out, so maybe nothing should surprise me any more).

Bakemonogatari 3-9 - really enjoying this now

howels moving castle - seen it before, but they were showing it at cinemagic, so was nice to see it in the cinema. Might go and see tales from earthsea next week as well

Arakawa under the bridge x bridge ep 7 - as good as ever, the second part of this episode was so funny

Koe de Oshigoto! OVA 1 - Lived up to my long-held (well, eighteen months or so) expectations for an anime adaptation of one of the funniest manga series I've been reading. The general setup is, of course, pretty amusing by default, but the way it's handled really does produce some genuine laugh-out-loud moments.

Was slightly surprised to see Kanna's nipples in the OP though, I must admit. Whilst the manga is also not exactly you would really show on CBBC, it's at least something you can tell people to read without thinking they're going to shop you. If Konno Azure wants to write something with random nudity, he will just flat out write some porn, so I don't know why that was added in.

Pretty faithful adaptation of the first volume, only leaving out a couple of incidental characters. Most of the seiyuu I didn't recognize particularly, but overall it sounds well cast compared to how I voiced them in my head.

There was another comment I wanted to make about it, but it has completely escaped my mind. :(

In conclusion... it's finger lickin' good! Bwahahahaha.

Star Driver - Episode 7

Star Driver ep 7 - maybe the first case of this series following up a decent ep with another decent ep. Actually feel like they're telling the "real" story now.

Some consistency does seem to be beginning to creep into Star Driver and the plot seems to be gaining some momentum now, but I thought this episode was still just 'good' and nothing more IMO.

Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector - Episode 7

A great series with some awesome mecha designs that continues to get better episode after episode.

Playing Major Catch Up at the moment, and so thus...

Kanon (2006): Episodes 1 - 12.

Is rather stunning to say the least. Was very funny to start with in terms of how it perfectly juggled wit and character related laughs. Then the drama came and it hit... hard.

Is beautiful and pleasant. Can't really fault it at the moment. Hoping it'll stay this good...

Yes, I do know what you mean. I would not go any "higher" than my assessment of "decent", either. And I'm not sure they've got enough time to quite turn it all around, if it is only 12/13 episodes.
