Heavy Metal L-Gaim - Episodes 48 - 54 [Final]
I have really enjoyed watching L-Gaim again, that run of brilliant episodes up to a very good ending (imho at least), and including the final scene of episode 52, are still as thrilling today as they were when I first saw L-Gaim and it remains in the high echelons of anime I rate 10/10 (i.e. only a handful) . I also still think the background music in L-Gaim is awesome and has some of the best music in any anime I've seen so far even now. L-Gaim also looks awesome in HD, it has that sharp, clean look that the Layzner Blu-ray has and, personally speaking, I'm really happy with that as I was really hoping HD L-Gaim would look as good as HD Layzner did.
Wild 7
Wild 7 was right up my street and I had a great time watching it. It has a nice punchy story, it was excessively violent and had gorgeous 90's OVA animation to boot. I would snap up a Blu-ray release of this in a heartbeat.
The Quiet Don: Yakuza Side Story
Continuing to work through various 80's and 90's OVAs, The Quiet Don was another fun, if rather simplistic, anime that was an easy watch to pass the time with.
Treasure Island - Episode 1
This is another 70's classic that I have long wanted to see and now there's a nice looking Blu-ray from Discotek an opportunity to finally see it. Having seen a lot of Osamu Dezaki's other work I'm interested to see how his take on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale pans out.
