Heavy Meal L-Gaim - Episodes 11 - 20

L-Gaim really starts to get going once the story moves into space and 15 to 20 are a great run of episodes that continue to seed the plot of L-Gaim along with some excellent action scenes and highlights the difference HD makes to the visuals.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX - Episode 11

Lots more more nods to previous UC Gundam in this episode with an interesting set up for the next one.

Macross Dynamite 7 - Episodes 1 - 4 [Final]

That's Macross 7 complete and now to record the final part of the Macross retrospective on the mecha podcast.

Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive? Episode 12 (Complete. A rom-com that had the potential to be far better than it actually was- Only to dragged down by unnecessary character conflicts.) 3/5

Please Put Them On, Takamine-san (Uncensored) Episode 11-12 (Complete. Though fanservicy at times, I did find the "Removal of underwear to turn back time" to be quite the interesting concept. However I found the "coerced by blackmail" to be extremely distasteful.) 3/5
 
Friend showed a couple of random things for us last night:

Wanna-Be’s (1986, rewatch)

There’s not a lot to it, but I still kind of like this one, it’s very much ‘we wanted a film about ladies wrestling, but we got John Carpenter to write it’. Does make me wonder why we’ve never (to my knowledge) had a full series about ladies’ wrestling, it feels tailor made for anime.

Project A-Ko 3: Cinderella Rhapsody (1988, rewatch)

Much as I wouldn’t disagree with the general feeling that Project A-Ko tails off as it goes on, this third instalment, where the good-hearted A-Ko tries to impress handsome-but-vacant motorcyclist Kei, while B-Ko schemes to steal him from her, is still very entertaining, even if you can’t pick up all the myriad in-jokes. Was surprised to see that Yasuomi Umetsu wasn’t credited on this one, there’s a standout bit of animation in a pool hall at the start which looks very much like his handiwork.
