Gundam Movie 1 - Complete
Decided to start this rewatch as I'm missing out on Beginning. Kinda surprised just how much they fit into this first movie
Gundam Movie 2 - Mostly complete - Up to 1hr 45
Stopped here as I felt this was about the right time to stop Gundam for the night.
Real /Get in the Gundam Shinji/ moments and... Dare I say a few moments where I felt it would work better as a series rather than film

Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Beginning
A great start to something, but there is little suggestion that this is anything more than an extended cut of two (three?) episodes from a longer series sandwiched together. Really, it just stopped when I was getting into it.
As other folk have mentioned, the first half does also lean very hard on assumed knowledge of the original 0079 series. Even having seen the recap trilogy and Origin, but not recently, I felt like I was being quizzed on how much of the story I could remember, which feels like a slightly odd way to start off, considering that the second half is fairly accessible for newcomers by comparison. Perhaps it’s an attempt to court the hardened UC fans who might dislike the AU Gundam series, but I would have preferred them to trim this down and spend more time on establishing the new characters.
The back half does show a lot of promise though; I like the arena battling angle, it seems to have something of Venus Wars about it, with the kids developing a sport using discarded military tech. I’d certainly be keen to see more of the series once it’s released.

This has genuinely picked up a bit, especially now that personality placeholder Ouri actually has some character development, having formed a pleasingly natural and unforced relationship with a girl other than Makina, for whom he seems more like a stalker at this point. Shame that they basically fridged her almost straight away. I’ll take a break for a while at the half way mark, but assuming it doesn’t absolutely jump off a cliff in the next couple of episodes, I’ll likely watch the whole thing.

Fresh Precure! episodes 47-50, Fresh Precure! the Movie: The Toy Kingdom has Lots of Secrets!? (Film) (Complete. This entry left me feeling indifferent overall, not bad but one of the weaker Precure entries for me.) 3/5, 3/5

Honestly, I expected to watch a few episodes of this, think ‘oh yeah, this is where I dropped it’ and give up on it again, yet here we are. Considering that it doesn’t have any of the Gainax ‘big names’ attached to it, it’s proven stylish and surprisingly engaging now that it seems to have hit its stride. I think possibly the impact of Keisei’s death is a little undermined by them promptly introducing another character with so many of the same personality tics, but this isn’t something you’d look to for any great emotional depth. They’re doing fine.
Having hit a rather contrived moment the villains backing off with a customary ‘aha, our showdown will have to wait for another time, but we’ll get you yet!’, I think that’s a good place to take a break for a little while, but I’ll finish it soon.
