Well, finally, after buying the collection over 20 years ago, I have buried my guilt feelings and watched the first 13 episodes of Princess Nine. I had bought it for my nieces when they were around 5-6 but they never watching it, so I grabbed it on my last trip home six months ago and took the plunge today.

We're just not a sporty family, and baseball is a very niche sport in Australia. Still, it was enjoyable in a corny schmaltzy way. Such dramas! And I will predict that the show will end up with the girls playing the boys from the same school in the final, 'cos that's just how it has to be, eh?

One thing that was bugging me was the school's name - Kisaragi High. Googled the name and found a fascinating urban legend on Wikipedia but later realised it's the surname of Cutey Honey. Now I want to watch Cutie Honey (the live series) again. Maybe later. :)
I would never watch a live baseball game.
However I found Cinderella Nine, Tamayomi and Taisho Baseball Girls all very enjoyable in the way you described.

Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night

Interesting movie going back to the original story line in the tower, although one downside is the lack of threat to the main characters because you know they survive.

Mushoku Tensei II (Japanese audio) - Episode 10

Mushoku Tensei II (Japanese audio) - Episode 11

Today:
The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2 (Japanese audio) - Episodes 5-6
The Great Cleric (Japanese audio) - Episodes 5-6
Mushoku Tensei II (Japanese audio) - Episode 12 (Part 1 done, Part 2 airs 2024)
Reign of the Seven Spellblades (Japanese audio) - Episodes 4-5

The One Piece manga re-read was taking a lot longer than I had anticipated and as such, my anime simulcast watch and video game backlog took a hit. Since I re-read up to the end of Vol. 60 which is the half-way point, I'm taking a break so sort out the anime simulcasts that I started from late August. That said, at the start of the month when I was watching the live-action One Piece series, I did end up getting the sharing password lock screen for Netflix so my plan to watch My Happy Marriage may not happen at this time (and to make up for it I plan to watch Phoenix: Eden 17 on Disney+).

I'm also making use of the Anime Planet challenge which is to finish 8 anime titles per season (and Mushoku Tensei II ended up taking 2 slots due to the Episode 0 special that came first). The Misfit of Demon King Academy II doesn't count towards this as it was a delaycast from the Spring season, so what remains are The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2, The Great Cleric, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Reign of the Seven Spellblades, and Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. Fortunately the final day for the challenge is on Saturday so I have a bit more time to sort out the simulcast backlog.

Classroom for Heroes episode 12 Takedown. (Complete. A mix of decent episodes and pretty poor ones, resulting in an uneven watch.) 2.5/5

Dark Gathering
episode 12 Push through.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation II episode 12 Embrace. (Complete. An engaging first cour to this sequel season, looking forward to the next.) 4/5

One Piece
episode 1077 A long story.

The Duke of Death and His Maid 2nd Season episode 24 Resemble. (Complete. An enjoyable sequel season which had some nice character-focused episodes throughout.) 3.5/5

Garo: Crimson Moon
episodes 4-23 (Complete. I ended up enjoying this less than the first Garo and it was rather poor overall, a rare time I’ve found myself watching at 1.5x speed just to finish it.) 2/5

Am I Actually the Strongest? Episode 11

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Episode 24

Classroom for Heroes Episode 12 (Complete. Somewhat of mixed bag when it comes to the series as a whole, with some episodes being better than others.) 3/5

Horimiya: The Missing Pieces
Episode 13 (Complete. An enjoyable return to this anime that adapts the content the original series skipped over.) 3.5/5

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation II Episode 36 (Complete... for now. A good first cour of episodes for this second season, will definitely be watching the next cour.) 4/5

My Tiny Senpai Episode 11

My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1 Episode 12 (Complete. A fun fantasy romp that portrays it's own unique take on the whole "overpowered protagonist" concept.) 3/5

Temple: No One Can Live on Loneliness
Episode 12 (Complete. Though boisterous from the get go, I did find the repetitive fanservice clichés somewhat amusing. A decent watch overall.) 3/5

The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2
Episode 24 (Complete. A decent second season with more of the same so I'll definitely be watching the third next year.) 3.5/5

The Misfit of Demon King Academy II Episode 25 (Complete... for now. Despite suffering from midway production issues this has been an okay continuation for which I will watch the second cour.) 3/5

The Story of Saiunkoku Eps 35-37 this afternoon with my mum. She started nodding off near the end of ep 38 so we'll re-watch that last part and ep 39, the last episode of the first season, tomorrow. Then, we'll start in on the 39 episodes of Season 2!

Earl and Fairy Eps 1-6 on Crunchyroll. Some more classic Shoujo goodness for me to dive into. Not sure if my mother would like it or not, but I'll give it a try with her after we finish Saiunkoku.

Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon Eps 1-5 on Crunchyroll. Had to try this one out since I really like the Girls with Guns art on the Collector's Edition box set. So far it isn't as bad as I thought it would be, although still some cringy parts and a bit juvenile in other parts. I'll continue on and see how it goes.

I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss Eps 1-9. I started watching this to determine if I wanted to include the new Blu-ray in my final pre-order at Rightstuf, and this series actually turned out to be very good so far, so I did add it to my order.

Golden Warrior Gold Lightan - Episodes 1 & 2

Started a re-watch of this for review on the next episode of the podcast.

Kuromukuro - Episodes 14 - 20

It's got less goofy and more intense through the second half and I'm quite enjoying it.

Alita Battle Angel: I rather enjoyed that, well apart from the soppy romantic stuff. And her eyes were a bit scary (reminded me of those Big Eye pictures). Back to the anime tomorrow.

I really like the anime so was cautious but optimistic about the live action film and I actually quite enjoyed it.
