Dr. Ramune -Mysterious Disease Specialist- episode 6 Sink.

Horimiya episode 6 Turning heads.

The Big O II episodes 18-26 (Complete. A very enjoyable series with a solid conclusion, though some standalone episodes were stronger than others.) 4/5

The Empire of Corpses (Film)
A morbid yet fascinating premise that left me feeling rather indifferent to the overall narrative by the end credits. There were some good moments here and there but I feel like the story may have worked better as a more fleshed out series. 2.5/5

Bakuman episodes 1-25

Sometimes you had to laugh at the rubbish Kaze subtitles, no wonder why they didn't bother to release the 2nd or 3rd seasons in this country.

Bakuman Season 2, Episodes 1-6

The story continues

Gundam Reconguista in G (Japanese) - Episodes 14-18

Second arc got off to a slower start but I can't believe they pulled a Star Wars on Bellri and Aida, well no, I can cause it's Tomino but damn, I feel bad for Bellri. Heading to Venus Globe... I don't know where the series is going from here.

EDIT: I frogot to say, I don't really like the way the series treats Aida, she's a capable pilot but everyone just tells her to stay back or as soon as they've told her to launch, ask her to return to the ship. I don't understand.

City Hunter ep10-12 (rewatch)

With hindsight, the episode about Ryo guarding a bratty Yakuza heiress in the guise of her tutor, seems like it might have been the direct inspiration for Jesus, a very similarly styled 90s manga about an assassin who goes into hiding as a high school teacher.

Laid Back Camp S2 ep6

I kind of want a spinoff that’s just the teacher drinking various alcoholic beverages.

Horimiya ep1-2

While I don’t think it’s bringing anything new to the table, this seems an appealing and pleasingly non-gimmicky kind of series.

Lupin III: Part 2 ep27-28

Into the second season of Part 2 now, complete with a nice new OP sequence. 27 is quite fun, with its colourful Alice in Wonderland style theme park, but it does seem to set a precedent for a lot of later adventures, with its ‘Lupin is saddled with a kid who he initially tries to get rid of, then becomes attached to’ storyline. With 28, I’m back into episodes I remember seeing before though; this one with a female detective feels like a bit of a missed opportunity, as despite Inspector Melon (an allusion to the ‘Melon Cop’ character from the manga?) being introduced to great fanfare, the story doesn’t quite seem to know what to do with her. It would be nice if she turned up again in one of the tv specials sometime, especially as she had a fleeting cameo in Part 5.

New Gall Force
Really enjoyed this. Of the old Manga Collection titles I got recently I saved this one for last as I figured its be the best one and I wasnt wrong.

Code Geass Initiation, Transgression, Glorification
Decent retelling but not a patch on the series itself. It's been ages since I watched the series so couldnt really remember which parts were different so it was fun to revisit the world of Geass.

Code Geass Lelouche of the Re;surrection
I actually really liked this film. It was more simple in scope than the series but they're fun characters to go on a ride with and most fan faves get a moment to shine. All in all a decent film with some great action.

Bodacious Space Pirates 1-3 Another backlog mystery box thingy. For a show about space pirates that are bodacious it sure is a very safe show. I don't know where to put my finger on this one. It's not a bad show but I'm not feeling compelled to find out what happens next. It's kind of like a high school SOL but minus the comedy that usually goes with those.

Attack on Titan: The Final Season episode 69 Burdens and bars.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations episode 186 Aerial fight.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation episode 6 Attempted gratitude.

Non Non Biyori Nonstop episode 6 Non Non camp.

Yatogame-Chan, Kansatsu Nikki 3 episode 6 Tantrum.

The Good Witch of the West episodes 1-13 (Complete. A story driven by its characters being thrown into various plots and political intrigues. I liked the overall story even if the antagonistic forces were a bit weak and some of the scenarios a bit tropey. The relationship between the leads also works for the most part.) 3.5/5

The Great Passage
episodes 1-11 (Complete. Sometimes it’s nice to delve into an anime which is more grounded in reality - I enjoyed this character-driven series and mostly liked the often-awkward protagonist and his interactions with the rest of the cast. Another solid Discotek pick-up.) 4/5

Gundam Reconguista in G (Japanese) - Episodes 18-26 Complete

Well... I kinda... I don’t know what to say. Maybe other than, what was even the point? The final conflict was utterly senseless and just ends. There’s some enjoyable things about the show at least, the character designs were always interesting, the animation was solid through out, even if some battles were visually inconsistent and dipped into Thunderbolt’s style at random moments and the soundtrack was decent. The first OP was a banger, second OP was tonally conflicting tho and felt like an odd choice, both are visually lacklustre though imo as they just use clips from the show. The ED is probably one of my favourite Gundam EDs, just a really fun song, it doesn’t use clips from the show as well so it’s already visually more interesting than both OPs. Overall, the show is a mess and is definitely very much near, if not at, the very bottom of my list for Gundam. I’m curious to see how the movies turn out and if they’ll make anything make anymore sense. After Turn A (which is fine) and now G Reco here, I’d be quite happy if Tomino never wrote another entry in the franchise.

Also, Kazuya Nagai and Takehito Koyasu both voiced characters in the show, so those are some nice highlights.

I went into the show blind as well and ended up really enjoying it. It will very much pickup pace and have a lot more humour as Marika grows into her role as the captain.

My mother and I started watching Kono Oto Tomare! last night in my theater, a high school drama about the Koto Club. It has a fair amount of that over-bearing panic-screaming humor I so vehemently detest in Japanese anime, it's just on the verge of me not being able to watch the series. Other than that though, the story has been really good, and I love hearing the koto music being performed.

Show is very under-rated, the second cour is really good.
