On Wednesday, Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki attended an event at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo with Tomoko Yamaguchi (voice actress in Ponyo) where he gave behind the scenes stories about production on Spirited Away and Howls Moving Castle and also revealed that the next work from Hayao Miyazaki will be autobiographical.
Studio Ghibli later said that the staff were also surprised by Suzuki’s announcement but told the Cinema Today website that although they cannot announce anything more than what Suzuki has said, their new work will be animated.

I do hope it's an autobiography of Miyazaki; that'd be awesome to watch.

Although it'd have to shoe-horn the typical Ghibli romance, and flying vehicle xD

Wow, I guess it kind of makes sense to let Miyazaki do this himself... still quite a surprising thing to hear though. And, tbh, I'm only tentatively interested in it.

Hayao Miyzaki is on CNN’s Talk Asia. Fascinating stuff taking in the recent tsunami, Studio Ghibli and a brief but important comment on his next project.

C'mon Miyazaki, we all know that even if you stuck the Ghibli label on a turd you'd be able to make millions off it internationally!

Somehow... struggling to be interested in this one.

Listening to the Talk Asia interview it could be interesting because he has memories of World War II. I'm not suggesting Grave of the Fireflies but you never know.
