Story synopsis said:
In some distant future, it's common knowledge that all wolves have been extinct for 200 years. However, it seems this is false as wolves have not disappeared but rather have taken human form. Kiba, a lone wolf, wanders into a city, trying to sniff out the Lunar Flowers that are supposed to lead whoever follows the scent to paradise. The source of the smell is Cheza, a girl who sleeps in what appears to be suspended animation in a lab. She and the wolves are drawn to each other, and Kiba hopes to find paradise once he finds the source of the scent of Lunar Flowers. However, once Kiba finds Cheza, she is kidnapped by a mysterious person called Darcia, and his search begins anew. Before he leaves the city, he meets 3 other wolves, Tsume, Hige and Toboe. All four wolves have very different personalities and ideas, and their friendliness towards each other is a little rough around the edges. However, they soon band together to continue to search for paradise.

Fingers crossed this episode airs without a hitch, Wolf's Rain is a brilliant series and I hope everyone enjoys watching it. I doubt it will appeal to as many people as Fullmetal Alchemist, but it's a great fantasy story with a strong mythology and tugs at the old heart strings on more than one occasion. If you watch Wolf's Rain all the way through, it will soon become a strong emotional experience you won't forget for many moons afterwards.

Well I just checked the channel and the scheduled programme 'G@mers' isn't on. I just hope this hasn't affected when Wolfs Rain will be shown as so far it doesn't look like Rapture have kept to their schedule very well.

I don't have Rapture so I'll be sticking with the DVDs, but the one-and-two-thirds episodes I watched on fansub have me mightily, mightily impressed and it's not often I rave unadulteratedly about something. (Although that might just be because I love anything even remotely resembling half-interesting werewolves...)

well i'm very impressed with this show

lots of great VA's (though they killed off my fav in the first ep lol)

sound and video wise. Big improvement from FMA, hopefully that was just a glitch in the programming.

Story line. Well chaz is absolutly lost lol but i quite enjoyed it, definatly something i'll keep watching

I really enjoyed the first ep and everything seemed to run alot more smoothly than the first showing of FMA, can't wait for next weeks episode

I forgot how great the first episode of Wolf's Rain actually is! Yoko Kanno's soundtrack was especially outstanding and the voice acting was a lot better than Fullmetal Alchemist. The picture quality was fine too.

And from what I could tell, there were no edits. Kiba ripping that dude's throat was all intact, nice and bloody eh!

Well done to Rapture, this was a fine way to start out a brilliant series.

Good stuff, looks like there's alot of promise in this series. Course, that sounds a bit funny coming from only one episode, but the premise seems good, animation is sweet, and the music is great. Can't really go wrong with Yoko Kanno, not sure about Steve Conte's intro theme though. 'Gravity' is such a beautiful song, makes me want to buy the soundtrack.

The dub was excellent, the only thing I could really pick at was Hige's voice, which will probably get on my nerves quickly. But it's early days yet, so I'll see.

Well done Rapture!

I really have to say wow, lol and i changed my msn name to 'YAY, Wolf's Rain !!!!! If u missed it, you should slap yourself several times, and watch the repeat on Sunday at 8:30pm' omg im such a advert, but its so true dont u think :p

I must say that Rapture have made to EXCELLENT choices, and anyone who watched that and didn't like that, really must be someone who really doenst have any taste for anything, u know what i mean.

Dammit im gonna make every1 watch this as far as i can, even if that means telling each contact on msn to put it on NOW!

Btw, are the Op's and Ed's meant to be in English? or was it dubbed :/

And to finish, Wolf's Rain is definately one of the most amazing anime's ever made! lol (i know i say that about everything :S).
And it makes a hell of a lot of difference watching it on TV on a couch in your nice warm room, then on those uncomfortable chairs at the London Expo, and this time i could actually hear it! WOW this will be staying in my mind for several years to come
:p

i have the sound track and its the best sounds track i have.....
i like the opening song tho and the other song that Steve Conte's adds to the sound track "could you bite the hand".

edit: yes the opening and endings are all in english. its not a dub over.

And 'Heavens Not Enough' kinda a 'Stairway to Heaven' rip off but it doesn't matter, it's still great. ;)

I really enjoyed the version of "Heaven's Not Enough" that aired during this episode, it had subtle female vocals rather than the full on male vocals (Steve Conte I think) of the OST version.

I'm probably just buzzing from seeing some great anime on UK TV, but the first episode of WR is poetry in motion. It kind of reminded me of the first episode of Cowboy Bebop, it has that same tragic side story mixed with some vivid animation and surreal atmosphere.

I sky plussed it so I am all excitied now too :D great to hear that the dub was great! and yay! the say music composer from ghost in the shell is doing this? *cheers*

I would have to agree there, and considering my abnormal obsession with Bebop I can be fairly certain in saying that this one is probably going to have me hooked. It helps to have Yoko Kanno composing though doesn't it? She is just outstanding.

And did the people that did Bebop dub it? I could have sworn I heard a flash of Jet in there somewhere...

Squee - I really enjoyed Wolfs Rain. I'm so glad that the airing time all went smoothly after the whole thing with FMA. :D

The only bad thing now is we have to wait another week to see episode 2. :(
