Probably the worst season I can remember with even some returning favourites not quite reaching the heights of their first seasons. Lots of shows had interesting premises, but just ended up dragging. So much so that I've struggled to get through them, and still haven't finished quite a few, the delays didn't help either. I must start dropping stuff earlier, especially as I'm nearly up to 30 shows for Spring!
Not much to add to what was said in the piece:

OP/ED
Really liked the ED for Tomo-chan in which the VAs for the girls sing in character thus I could tell who sang which part. It helped that the lyrics were translated, which Crunchyroll doesn't always do it.

For OP, to choose something different from River or Aimer (NieR:Automata Ver1.1a) because her songs would nearly always win! I'll go for a bit of a cheat with the 2nd cour OP for Urusei Yatsura especially with the visuals.

Oh yes - and also the 'reverse' episode (#10) in which the boys sang the ED instead!

Easily done! But a great choice - this ED (both versions) would have definitely been my 2nd choice (if we'd had them) if I hadn't been quite so fond of Squad.

Didn't watch that show.
Not too sure on the song, but I always like characters singing along with the song in an OP/ED sequence.

When double checking your write up, I realise I forgot the Surprise category. I agree with you on Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari. At first I wasn't really sure about it and like you say the art was 'different', but it definitely grew on me.

I'm glad it wasn't just me liking this series (ANN didn't pick it up to review over the season, which was a shame) - and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of these characters when it returns later in the year.
