Sorry, I posted that last response because Amazon have Ashley's name as a tag before any of the others. I later checked Anime News Network and saw that she was in a supporting role...

Whisper of the Heart is my second favourite Ghibli film (After The Cat Returns), so I'll definitely be putting this on my birthday list.

HMV shipped my copy of the Arrietty double pack (and also Nausicaa which was previously out of stock) today, so I'd guess they've got stock in from the distro today too.

I ordered Whisper from Amazon though (I had a voucher for HMV but was also buyign some bits from Amazon), and I dont believe they've shipped yet.
Hopefully it'll arrive early :D

A little off topic to the original thread but is that Nausicaa a double pack? I've found the other Blu-Ray releases in that format but not Nausicaa.

Going back on topic, shall be ordering this in the next week or so :) Already got my Arrietty on the way.

My Arrietty is on the way and I've put this on my birthday list. As I already own the DVD though, the DVD from this pack will probably gather dust though xD

I don't believe so unfortunately.

I've had a less legitimate copy and a Sky+ recording sitting as I knew this was coming, and I've never seen Nausicaa before so I'm genuinely looking forward to it, as I know it's considered one of the best even if it is pre-official Ghibli.

Double Play
Those with Blu-ray players have no need for the DVD. Those without have no use for the Blu-ray. A most puzzling release format.
I assume it's for those who say, only have a HD ready TV downstairs, but might have a SD set up upstairs.

Those with Blu-ray players who can't get to the Blu-ray player until midnight thanks to the family hogging the big screen TV can be grateful of the DVD. :?

^ This. These days, I rarely get the big TV thanks to my step-dad being unwell and sleeping on the sofa. In fact, right now he's watching it.

Also imagine a crazy situation where someone didn't have a BD player yet, but wanted the BDs for when they get one. People consume media in too many varied ways these days to be overly puzzled by multi-format releases.
