Which anime would you like to see "re animated"?

This.

Into this.

Or maybe not, because GAINAX will somehow F*** it all up.
Typing GunBuster for Windows? What is this and where can I get a copy?

Also, noticing little appreciation for 80's - early 90's animation in this thread. This does not please me.

Actually, I adore GunBuster's animation, I prefer older animation to what we get today, it feels like there was more effort put into it so I can appreciate it better, but GunBuster turned 20 October last year and it got NOTHING, no recognition whatsoever yet EVA has had about fifteen remakes now. I'd love for anything, but at the same time I might regret it if it ever did get something.

Hand-painted cel animation has a richness and warmth that I often find missing in the shiny digital stuff. Because of this I'm more willing to overlook flaws in the animation (that is, fluidity of movement) of 80s and 90s anime.

Although I'm happy with the TV series, I would like to see Berserk get the Hellsing OVA treatment. That'd be fap worthy. If it happened and Geneon weren't dead, I'd be getting the lube ready for when they released steelbook editions of each release.

That's pretty much it. I haven't watched a lot of old stuff. Instead of re-animated, I'd rather just see R1 editions of titles like Scrapped Princess, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun get proper DVD treatment. Please, no more shimmering...

...but have to admit the Zeta Gundam movies were surprisingly well done and had me wishing they had reanimated all the footage.
As I understand it, doesn't the film version contain quite a different message to the series, to the disdain of certain fans?

Sad to hear of the lack of GunBuster celebration on the industry's part. Still, a 20th Anniversary re-release would be nice, especially since the series is out of print. (It was released here in VHS. Would it be too optimistic of me to assume it could see the light of day again on these shores?)

A few episodes of the Galaxy Express 999 tv series would be nice. Even by the standards of the time, the animation is pretty rough - particularly in the early episodes.

Also suggesting Kishin Heidan for the 'OAV into full series' pile. WW2 clearly needed more mechs.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. The existing pre-ghibli movie is a shadow of the manga, with an utterly awful colour palette. I'm sure Miyazaki himself won't ever want to remake the movie... but sooner or later, bam: Nausicaa Trilogy.

I have to say my favourite Outlaw Star, as was pointed out to me (and as I myself noticed) the style seems to vary a little from episode to episode. I'm guessing they used 3 or 4 different animators, but one of them made the necks so long XD it took a fair bit of getting used to haha!

So that "bam" was the sound of Hayao dropping dead and Gorō picking up the reins, right? If so, are you sure you want that Nausicaa remake..? :p

After watching the first two discs of Gurren Lagann, some of that needs re-animating already... Streuth Gainax, I know this is your new "style" an' all, but corner cutting much?

Gurren Lagann, eh? I regard that as one of the better looking TV series of recent years. Gainax managed to create a lot of dynamic action scenes on a meagre TV budget. My only problem is with the fourth episode, the one directed by Osamu Kobayashi that caused the 2ch shitstorm. It's just strange looking and its style doesn't fit with the show at all.

There's is actually a movie which That reanimates the first half of the story
and there is gonna be a second for the second half
I personally love that episode and the series as a whole
and I'm wondering where they cut corners exactly to be honest

I'm actually kind of excited bout the gits remake is it all just 3d?

I could post some caps, I'll probably bring it up in my forthcoming review. It's mainly the fact that virtually all semblance of detail disappears from some scenes while others are spectacular. It's certainly not a bad show at all, and this seems to be Gainax's new style in the wake of FLCL, but I'm not sure I approve of this kind of inconsitancy.
