I bought a Region 2 Phillips Blu-Ray player back in Jan 2010 from Asda for £70 which I thought was an absolute steal. You need a HDMI Cable to watch your Blu-Rays though which you can buy a HDMI Cable from Asda for £5.
Just as a non-player-specific warning, be sure to watch out for firmware updates guys. Only update your firmware if you're certain it's not going to remove your player's multi-region capabilities, as has happened to several of the older budget models. And by most accounts it's a bugger to put right.

I think US BD cases as a whole look weird...they're so thin compared to UK BD cases, and the top of the box...so flat (y'know, where UK BDs have the indent).
The 12.5mm flat-top Viva Elites are the king of BD cases. The curvature of each corner (top and bottom) is the same giving them a nice symmetrical appearance. Duller, more subdued shade of blue as well. I'm less a fan of the UK 14mm Amarays. The top corners curve in more than the bottom, and see there at the top of the opening edge? The embossed part is flattened off above where the plastic film is glued on, presumably to facilitate machine assembly. Needless, ugly. The discs rattle in them, too. Ahem.
