What's the dealio with Macross?

Went to see the frankly awesome 30th anniversary exhibition of Macross concept art and a few other bits and bobs (largely Frontier), along with some original pieces, while I was in Japan. No picture taking allowed (obviously, I guess), but they were happy enough to sell a guide book in the shop for £25. >_>

They were also selling a limited number of prints of some of the pieces, most notably the ones that had been done exclusively for the exhibition. These ranged from some smaller pieces that had 50 prints selling at about 55,000 yen, up to larger pieces that had 30 prints selling for about 155,000 yen. I went on day 5 of the 13 days it's running for, and I would say the majority of the prints were already sold.

I would have loved to buy one of the smaller ones had I know about them far enough in advance to save the money, but at short notice I had to settle for a couple of 300 yen clear files. ^^;
