Originally they just called that "Ultimate", but they must have realised how bad it sounded. "Ultimate Frisbee" is still a naff name though. Trying to be a cool name but trying too hard and consequently failing.

Frisbees are great fun though. :D

I like the fact it was created by a Veronica Mars (and other things) producer.
 
Mmm, seems it is older than I thought. I thought I had heard of it beginning in the 90s and being called 'Ultimate', but assumed when you said 'Ultimate Frisbee' that the name had since changed to that. My bad.
