Viz Media Europe has the Bakuman anime, and for the UK too.

Well at least if MB's release (which I started collecting) stalls forever I can get my dose of Eiji here. Good news.

Bakuman anime coming to the UK

The anime adaptation of <em>Bakuman</em>, the manga series about two aspiring manga artists, has been picked up by Viz Media Europe.

The series, the creation of <em>Death Note</em>'s Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba, has so far broadcast two series in Japan with a third currently being planned. The anime is directed by Kenichi Kasai (<em>Honey and Clover</em>) and Noriaki Akitaya (<em>Code Geass</em>) The manga is already published by Viz under the Shonen Jump label.

The distributor physically (DVDs and Blu-Ray) of the series in the UK will be by Kaze UK, but so far there is no detail on of what the release date will be or how many volumes will be released. The anime is currently distributed in the USA under the Media Blasters label.

Honestly i think the show lacks something in the beggining of the second season. I've quitted after episode 3 or 4 and i know that it would get better eventually but it wasnt for me anymore.

Anyway its good news for the fans.

I think the second season was quite up-and-down, it had some great moments and a fitting final few eps but it didn't captivate me with a sense of determination that the first series had, I guess partially because they were writing a series they didn't much like for much of it.

Not really been interested in the series itself, the DVDs coming over here might interest me enough to buy it.
This reflects my attitude; I've never really been bothered about Bakuman, but I'd pick up a DVD release to check it out.

Well if manga do decide to release the blu rays of it at least kaze will make sure that they don't cancel it at the last moment.

It's not really Manga who decides but us at Kaze for those :)! Currently it is planned for Blu-Ray but I will confirm our final planning later.
