I don't see why anyone would prefer VHS, what are your mate's reasons?

I say DVD anyway. Better quality, durability, and you can fit more on a shelf =P

I have this small feeling you like polls. This is about the 10th in a couple of days.

This is my second! my first was teh anime verus Manga. Plus i've only been a memeber since yesterday so the last 10 days would be hard for me

Oh, 87 post I though it would be about 10 days

Anyway, DVD cause its just plain better, better visual and audio quality, easier navigation through the DVD, audio options, smaller. etc.

Ah, good times. Now I feel old...

Comparing DVD and VHS is like comparing CD and cassette. VHS? You can stop it and come back to the same spot. DVD? No jams, no breakages, more subtitle/audio options, more compact, no irritating gits forgetting to rewind them before you use them.

Unless something's available on VHS only (nothing springs to mind), DVD all the way. :)

There are people out there who have a strange bond for mediums that have gone past their sell-by-date, and I suspect the people who prefer VHS over the DVD format (!!!!!) have similar reason/s to those who prefer old vinyl records over CDs.

Each to their own but some states of mind seem to be just for the sake of being different...

By the way, I prefer DVD in case you didn't realise. :D

VHS and DVD are both lame....

Betamax all the way!! :D

You may laugh but by all accounts Betamaz was a better format than VHS (though not DVD, obviously). :)

It had, apparently, better picture and sound quality than VHS but was smaller too.

I'd have prefered Betamax to have succeeded on retrospect if for nothing else for the smaller amount of room they took up back in the day. :D

I would choose DVDs too, better quality all round, not to mention no annoying wait as you re-wind it. However I have been known to pick up the odd VHS simply as it's cheap =x

Yeah i Got the original Blade Runner (the happy ending one) for £1!, then another one for 50p! I was well proud there its really hard to find
