It’s a shame that this release lacks the Japanese track, and the Blu-ray conversion is far from perfect, but if you’ve been dying to update your old DVD copy, or have never acquainted yourself with Vampire Hunter D, there’s never been a better time.

If memory serves, Bloodlust has a slightly unusual history with regards to it's Japanese dub. I think the English version was produced and released first and the Japanese version came some time later, which probably hints at some rights issues surrounding it? It's a shame it's not included but either way, this is an excellent film and probably Yoshiaki Kawajiri's highest point.
 
The english track is the original track yes. The japanese dub came much later, and has never been released outside of JP. There isn't even a BD release of the film in JP. It's last release was part of a VHD Complete package with the 1980s film.

The JP track has a song that isn't in the english track. I imagine that song might be the issue.
