An couple of updates from Manga Twitter Account, quite a few question answered:

This site got a nice plug in return from MANGA. I can understand Jonathan Ross following English anime companies on Twitters, but Stephen Fry still a bit of puzzler.

“Nice plug for us on www.animeuknews.net Thanks guys. I will add that I do not know Wossy or Stephen Fry personally, but I am big fan.”

Someone else asked about The Evangalion Movie 1.01 release and got this feedback:

“The first Eva movie is called Evangelion 1.01: You're (Not) Alone. Watched it and it's fab. Released end of March. Cinemas in Feb”

A question regarding the rest of Voltron UK release (Only the 1st volume was released over here):

“@MangaUK Voltron for almost a quarter of what I paid http://bit.ly/pLx1f Thanks... When is the rest coming out anyway before I import it?

@sideswipe79 Sorry! You may have to import it. I don't think Manga will release anymore episodes. Complicated story. “

Ichi has sold even more than first thought:

“@MangaUK Tobi picked up ichi today (on blu ray)... It was beautiful, engaging and the action was brill!! 8/10 another great release ^_^

@Toymation Yay! It is a beautiful film and I love Haruka Ayase. Hot! It's now sold more than 9,500 copies in the UK. A big hit for Manga.”

A question regarding the status of the streaming of FMA Brotherhood:

“@MangaUK Any news on the streaming of FMA Brotherhood, that was announced back in May?

@takethelong The contract is taking ages to complete, but hopeful it will be on Manga.co.uk soon.”

One of our forum members asked MANGA if they were willing to have MANGA Rep join the forum to answer your questions. It aren't a yes just yet but they are interested.

“@MangaUK Hey! There's a site called animeuknews. It's the biggest UK anime forum. We have a Beez rep topic. Can we get a Manga rep to join?

@AionicTonic Sure! Thom or I can do it. But how much work is involved. We are busting our guts at the moment. “

If MANGA UK are reading this and they want to create MANGA Rep topic, Speaking for the forum, feel free to create one anytime you want.

Well, that would certainly be progress. I seem to remember our previous encounters with Manga reps being short and unsatisfying.

And... that can't be Aion with a Twitter account, surely?

Would be nice if they updated their own site rather than make people go looking for news on something like twitter.
Here, here! A bit pointless having one if they are going to leave it stagnate. If they've got time to twitter, surely they can use some of it to update their company site?

Wow thanks Dave, sifting through the horrors of Twitter to present those lovely chunks of information all in one dose for Twitterphobes like me is a great job done! Some really interesting tidbits in there.

And of course, if Manga get a rep on here we'll sticky a thread for them. And if they want any special rules in their thread to keep it manageable they need only ask and I'll keep it tidy :) (same goes for Andrew of course, but he seems to take the dodgy moments in his stride).

I'm of the persuasion that something's been asked about it before, but has there been any word on Manga UK considering doing anything with One Piece? I haven't been keeping up with this--er--Twitter enterprise.

It Takes a lot more time to update a website than writing a quick sentance reply on twitter, also twitter can be accessed at any time and anywhere, while updating the site could probably be only done in office hours.

Funnily enough I asked Beez Andrew to ask Manga the same question, the response I got was:

"Got through to him today and his comment on One Piece was at the moment it's not on their lineup but they keep evaluating it. Basically they're a bit nervous as they have quite a few shonen titles that are ongoing like Naruto and Bleach so they worry adding another to the mix is too much to handle.

The more people ask for it though the more it helps the case."

Thing could quickly change regard ONE PIECE as I got that reply before the news of another Shonen: D'Gray man was announced. So kinda contradicting there previous statement of no more shonen. Best to wait for the EXPO in less month time as you never know It could be announced then.

I must admit I can't hold out much longer before importing, it one of a few anime that actually really want to purchase at the minute.

But then I have to trawl through pages and pages of junk to see if one interesting line has been posted. Sticking some form of CMS or blogging code on their website would allow them to post from anywhere at any time. The news section on manga's website has not been updated for a year.

So can their website, and what are they doing at the office apart from twittering on twitter?

Thanks, Dave!

I confess that I'm really struggling to avoid importing, too. Let's hope the One Piece community rallies enough to support to get this deal sealed.

One Piece is one of the few anime I really really want to buy. I'm not into Naruto so One Piece can fill the gaps instead. You have my support too.

Well you don't have to bother looking any more :D, as I will be looking regularly for any new titbits on twitter and will be post them here.

The MANGA UK news section not been updated is a weird one as they still produce MANGA Newsletters. Here is the latest one as proof, if you want them sign up to Manga UK site and they email them to you.

MANGA UK would be very busy looking after existing releases both Anime & Live Action, Futures releases, Agreeing deals for new licenses, general admistration, Preparing for EXPO & Conventions, Etc.

Breaking down something like future releases is massive job it in it self: Artwork, design and contents need to be decided, its need to be rated by BBFC, needs to be made & sent to retailers who in turn need deals agreed with, dvds have to be promoted to the public and stockist as well, returns & Price adjustment deals have to be agreed with low remain stock, Some DVD may need to reproduced.

Twitter can be accessed at any time, including out of work hours like a lot BEEZ Andrews responses are. Manga have responded to some a 5 hours ago and its Sunday an unlikely day for them to be working.

I understand all that. I'm not a kid in case you didn't know. So you're implying that there's just no time to update the news page on their website, because they're just too busy, and they can't get into it on a weeknight, or weekend? Best they close it down and save a bit of money to put toward more releases then.

You needs some kind online representation, having nothing just looks unprofessional. Also I couldn't imagine it cost that much to run the site in the first place, losing the site would be mean removing cheap source of advertising their products. MANGA actually need the site now anyway as they streaming Fullmetal Alchemist brotherhood at some point on it.

I do agree though when they are still making newsletters and they are not being put on their site, that is terribly lazy.

Oh? I look forward to that, though their streaming of Gurren Lagann was a total failure for me.

My point exactly.
