If you're interested in viewing some "home-made" manga, the British Art Museum (Museum of East Asian Art, Bath) is <a href="http://www.meaa.org.uk/risingstarsofmanga.htm">currently exhibiting</a> entries submitted for this years "Rising Stars of Manga" competition.
And speaking of UK manga, Sonia Leong's Romeo & Juliet graphic novel (released in the UK earlier this year) was nominated for the "<a href="http://www.ala.org/ala/yalsa/booklistsawards/greatgraphicnovelsforteens/nominations.htm">Great Graphic Novels for Teens</a>" award by the US's "Young Adult Library Services Association". Although "Romeo & Juliet" didn't make the final list of 67 nominations, it was up against the likes of Death Note, which in itself represents a great achievement.
