It just goes to show how far the UK industry has come in the last few years. We are finally catching up with the yanks!

I'm kind of surprised that the DBZ series hasn't been released on DVD over here. I realize it is a massive series, but its extensive coverage on Toonami surely counts for something.

lol, i think we only have 5 movies, and no sight of the TV series' yet :(

Although people say DB sucks, i still really want to try it :p

And as for Inu Yasha, really, how stupid can people be... release it in the UK already!

Oh and there was a post a while back about some company that shows all the liscences in Europe, and it had Inu Yasha down to virtually every single European country, so why have we still not got it.

Also, i'm sure this would finally make people lose the 'all anime is pokemon' stereotype?

 i've seen a few AMV's with it in and it looks pretty good, in what way is it overrated? :?
Bad plot, annoying characters, really bad dub and pretty clichéd script. Of course it's just a matter of opinion (my opinion being 1337 (j/k)).

You might like it though, I just don't.

I think it might have something to do with licensing and the dub. The dub we have over here of the movies is an awful one which isn't by Funimation, so I guess it would be hard for them to release their versions of the movies over here too. Which is a shame as the dub we get sucks.

I agree, I watched about 20 eps of it and really didn't see what all the fuss was about.

If you wanna get the story of Dragonball, just go read the novel Saiyuki. Or watch the old TV series Monkey. The story doesn't really change all that much.

It's extremely overrated, if you're really wanting to see it it'll no doubt be a let down.
I think that's a bit harsh! You can't assume because you didn't like it that other people won't either! You have to remember it's a shounen story written by a woman, so the storyline does differ a little from the norm (baiscally they can admit their feelings, instead of keeping them bottled up like they do in male dominated shounen stories!).
It's actually a damned good series and although it falls flat with unnecessary fillers at certain points (eps 81-99 and somewhere around 135-137!!), they actual premise is brilliant, the characters are wonderful and although the ending is up-in-the-air, you can always finish it off by reading the manga!
