Would someone please be able to explain the categories on the first page for me and which ones would be playable on an Australian blu-ray player (Sony, LG and Panasonic)? Sorry if this has already been explained, but I'm just not understanding what is applicable to me or not. My understanding or region/geolocking only extends to Australia = Region B. Once again, I'm really sorry if this is a silly question or has already been explained, I'm very new to sourcing my anime from overseas so I haven't really had to concern myself with this before.

The UK and Australian regions are classified as region B, thus all titles will be accessible.
Additionally, the Crunchyroll/Funimation titles will also be available since they fall under both A and B categories.
The other studios are categorized as regions B/free, so there should be no complications in that regard.
Regarding Sentai, they employ geolocking, which prevents Blu-ray players manufactured in other countries from functioning to avoid unauthorized imports. This restriction can be bypassed by adjusting the settings on the player to match the country of the Blu-ray's release. However, this does not appear to be a significant issue anymore, as it seems that this feature was removed from newer Blu-ray players some time ago. Furthermore, it remains unverified whether Sentai Blu-rays are now region-free, despite their indication of being Region A only.

Thanks so much for the clarification, that makes it much easier to understand :)

Checked my copy of Princess Principal Crown Handler Chapter 3 and it only tests the country code, not the region. So it seems Sentai is still "geolocking" their releases. Though it only tests if the country code isn't JP, which is unlikely to cause issues for most people I reckon.

IIRC they've been using this same check since about mid-2015. Earlier geolocked titles before that did explicitly check for US or CA, which is far more restrictive.
