Amazon returns are so easy it's definitely worth it.

I found amazon US returns do-able but a few extra annoying hoops, depend if your surrounded by various parcel drop off station (which I'm not) and usually has to be returned via UPS
Last time I did it for some reason the place that acceppted the UPS drop off required like 4 copies of the return postage label, so had to go photocopy a bunch and them come back (still not really sure why they needed 4 but the cashier attached them all for me and just said on collection the take various copies and it just how UPS does it there (obviously I suspect it was just that one drop off shop))
But their only standard edition I think, so a replacement case would be what I would opt for in this case (but that only because I know the extra hoops and not too many drop off area will just be more effort than a replacement case for myself)

The movies on Netflix are part of the Crystal adaptation which stuck closer to the manga with new animation.

As @Lucky_Deity mentioned, Crystal is a more literal adaptation of the manga, but Sailor Moon is a case where that doesn't necessarily make it better. The comedy added to the original anime of Sailor Moon is a huge part of its appeal.
