Last July, it was revealed that ufotable is working on a brand new project based on Type-Moon's visual novel <em>Fate/stay night</em> was announced by Hikaru Kondo, the founder of animation studio ufotable. The ninth volume of Kadokawa's Type-Moon Ace magazine has revealed some information on this new project.

The new series will be the first full directoral run of Takahiro Miura, whose previous work includes episodes 15 and 19 of <em>Fate/Zero</em> and episode 6 of <em>The Garden of Sinners</em>. <em>Fate/Zero</em>'s character designers Atsushi Ikariya and Tomonori Sudou will be joined by Hisayuki Tabata (<em>Yuyushiki</em>) in adapting Takashi Takeuchi's original character designs.

Studio DEEN's previous <em>Fate/stay night</em> anime was released in the United Kingdom by MVM Entertainment, while the <em>Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works</em> movie was released by Manga Entertainment UK. MVM Entertainment have also licensed the <em>Fate/Zero</em> anime.

Really looking forward to it!

Agreed, but they are being so tight lipped about which arc they are actually doing, guess that's just another way to pump up the hype.

Looking forward to it! If i had to guess, they might adapt Heaven's Feel if its to follow on from Fate/Zero plus taking into consideration that the Fate and UBW scenarios have been adapted already

From what rumour is floating about it isnt any existing route but a new one... How odd

It's the only official arc from the game that they haven't covered, so I'm actually hoping it is this. I mean, come on - We've seen Saber-Alter in Unlimited Codes as well as many other games (Tiger Colosseum etc), but also appears in Typemoon's Carnival Phantasm and Prisma-Illya animes. It's no secret to fans that Sakura is the 3rd choice in the GN, and that she becomes an antagonistic vessel for the true "Main boss." God, Dark Sakura's hot! :p
Yet we've not had anything but cameos and a controversial anime adaptation to point non-GN fans pointing towards the HF Arc. For Pete's sake - if this is not done, I will not be pleased with the disclosure.

However, could we rule out another scenario where we have a unique arc? Or have Typemoon/Ufotable thought about pushing the fan-made Hollow Ateraxia into an official movement? (Doubtful at best.) I mean, they used Lancer's casual clothes in Unlimited Codes and Carnival Ph, so they must acknowledge it's existence... This has been an age-old story and I would love to see at least a little of that get the stamp of approval by the original organisation.

Either/or - I'm very intrigued to say the least.

I suppose it depends on if they are counting the studio deen adaptions, one tried to do too much and the other skipped important plot points in favour of battles.

In an ideal world I'd like to see Fate this year, UBW next year and HF in 2016, assuming the franchise is popular enough to handle 3x 24 episode runs. Each story line diverges quick quickly and builds upon knowledge from the previous one. That's probably the biggest problem to be honest, in any given storyline you only learn the true identity of a couple of the servants.

If they can only do one route it's hard to know what would compliment Fate/Zero best given that the story was written giving nods to all the various story lines. Fate and UBW ignore Sakura so all her scenes in Zero will have led to nothing, while HF means that we get very little of Saber, either normally or as Alter and ultimately means she gets a bad end in both Anime adaptions

Oh, gosh - no! It may be "fairer" to anime-only fans to redo the Fate saga, but can they not find out the "truth" by getting the manga instead? I dont think the company would do it as a complete 3-saga-whitewash again, just because one studio decided to "go off the tracks." I could be wrong - FMA was overstepped by Brotherhood for the sake of being accurate to the manga and fan-friendly.
And with a 2-year target for the entire game's content resubmitted into 24 ep series for each saga? I doubt that too. It is better to wait that little bit longer for a great anime line-up than have what I see as a compact deadline. Zero was made into 2x Twelve ep series, and that took the best part of the year to make. I just don't know if they could or would do it.

The Matou family itself still pushes itself with some relevance in each story. Out of the 3 major families that "control/feud" in the events, there is always an Einbern master, a Tohsaka master, and a Matou master. Zouken is not a major character in the other 2 arcs, and neither was "True Assassin". If this new anime isn't the HF route, then him as well as Kariya would be just additional/side stories to the animes that have already been made and their arcs. It is not an absolute loss if HF was brushed aside in this retrospect.
If Ufotable keep to their plots and their progress (like in the UBW movie and Zero), we'll see that they will produce HF in the best way possible, since they have already worked noticeably and experienced the Fate universe. The Matou exposure wouldn't have been wasted, and for the fans that already know the story from one end to another from the pieces/media that exist, it sure would make them feel better knowing several key parts of Fate/Stay Night were given the notice needed to justify Sakura's involvement in several points of media. (Rather than just being Shinji's whipping-doll, and Shirou's bitch.)

Well I wasn't suggesting 3 x 24 in a 2 year time table, it was one for 2014, one for 2015, one for 2016, 3 years. But I do understand that'd be a bit of a ambitious wish.

Fair point about the nods to F/SN in Zero, no matter what route they do fans will appreciate the nods to the other arcs that were in Zero, and it serves to build the universe as a whole even if they don't get followed up on.

Ahha! Sorry, I must be just thinking about the translation for the game to English. Thanks for the clear-up, Green.
