These TV spots are for the first movie of a trilogy which is due out in Japanese theatres in January 2012. They are adapted from Kentarō Miura’s original manga and animated by Studio 4°C. The film’s director is Toshiyuki Kubooka who has worked as animation director on notable titles like Gankutsuou, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, and the Working Through Pain Segment of Batman:Gotham Knight.

I'll only watch this if they're going to progress past the Golden Age arc once these movies are done. I feel like watching the TV Berserk was a massive waste of my time, now knowing it won't be continued (I'd though the then untitled movie project would be a follow up..), admittedly it was a well-realised, character-driven and enjoyable waste of time, but a waste of time nonetheless...

True fact from inside the industry: This film *covers* the whole Golden Age arc - the second goes beyond it. Promises to be incredibly well done too.

:s Makes the order of the title a little confusing.

And it had better be pretty goddam long in that case!

That is extremely disappointing. Now, unless they can make the film three and a half hours long at minimum, the film is going to have a problem. The content covered in the Golden Age is at minimum, 10-11 volumes long, and they aren't small volumes either. Even with a three and a half hour film, they would have to skim over a ton of what there is. Yes ok we have the animated series already, and that does cover it and miss out a couple of key characters and events, but regardless, if you are going to cover something like this again to the extent that's been promised, it would seem more viable to cover it in, say, 2 films.

Sure, it's not entirely fair i judge it before it's been shown, but i just can't get the idea of it being one film into my head. It just doesn't fit right.
