Toonami closed down by Turner UK; replaced by pre-school TV

According to a report on Digital Spy, Turner Broadcasting UK will be closing Toonami (in the past the channel has been home to anime like One Piece and Dragonball Z), merging it with "Cartoon Network Too", which will now be broadcasting a mixture of old Toonami shows along side current Cartoon Network productions. All this is due to happen on May 24th.

Toonami is likely to be replaced by the pre-school targeted Cartoonito, a young childrens block of a programming that will be expanded from its strand on Cartoon Network Too.

Oh well, I suppose we all knew this was bound to happen the moment Toonami started focusing on live action sitcoms from the late-80s/early-90s. A shame really, since it's easy to forget Toonami was born from CNX, which was an awesome channel for a while and even aired Cowboy Bebop.

So does this mean they will bring back shows such as Tenchi Muyo! Gundam Wing, Samurai Jack. Is this a new channel or some other service?

Toonami was fantastic back in 2001 when it first started. I can remember watching my first taste of anime back then, good times :(

Yes, with Anime such as Tenchi Muyo... I wouldn't count DBZ as I hugely regret watching it.

But now this sucks.... *count the seconds before Conan - san comes in with the negative view*
 
Well thats SUCKS I look forward to getting up in the morning and watching Pokemon and Teen TItans.

Where will I now get my Batman fix?
 
To be honest, I knew this channel, and all it's good content would eventually come to an end.

Needless to say, that's just wrong.

We have enough baby TV!

I respected Teen Titans. It was the only western attempt at anime which I actually watched.
