The Ultimate Fan Service show?

I was re-watching some random episodes of random anime from my collection yesterday afternoon. Amongst them was Najica Blitz Tactics, a show I’d not seen this for the best part of two years but that I loved watching again. Now although I’d argue that there is more to this show, undoubtedly the most striking aspect of NBT is the fan service, and I’d be amazed if any other shows have even a tenth of the panty shots that appear in the opening episode as Najica does.

But is Najica the ultimate fan service anime or are there other shows that can claim that dubious crown?

lol, I remember watching the first ep of Najica but was laughing too hard to see any more. There are so many panty shots it looks like a 25 minute washing powder commercial!

I think there are worse ones - Rosario+Vampire is a recent notorious example, and Kanokon(sp?) is allegedly quite heavy on the fanservice too. Eiken is the worst I've seen - and I mean it's the worst. There are no redeeming features at all (not even the fanservice!) - that show is utterly horrid on every level.

I'd say episosde 2 of Kanokon alone has more fanservice than any other anime I've seen, and I've seen all of Amaenaideyo.

I agree Najica was almost too much for me, it made it hard to concentrate on what was happening other than the panty shots.

One of the Burn Up series has a “Jiggle Counterâ€

I love Eiken and it probably takes the cake for there being absolutely no reason for it to exist beyond ridiculous levels of absolutely terrible fanservice :) everything about it is stupid.

Depends on what floats your boat - Najica/Aika are probably the most panty-orientated fanservice around, Eiken is the most er, "special", giant robot shows like Gravion and Godannar combine mecha fanservice with girls beautifully, and then there are any number of ridiculous moe shows with fanservice in them tailored to that crowd. Then there are the fighting fanservice shows like Ikkitousen, Tenjou Tenge, and anything with Shiranui Mai's chest in it.

Ikkitousen, and I think there was a show last season called...Goshisuu-sama Ninomiya-kun or something, that was terrible, and was just fanservice, and what was that loli show last season too? Pretty sure that kind of show caters to a certain audience but I don't want to detract from the main discussion.

Edit: I think the loli show is called Kodomo no Jikan, feel free to correct me there.

I've not watched Najica, but from AMV Hell vids, I know EXACTLY what you mean... That was distastful...
Ikkitousen does have a mass amount of fan service. But I dont think it's quite the top of the elite-fanservice group. Although it's lurk somewhere within it.

And Draco, it's Burn up Excess, which happened to be the 1st anime I bought on DVD... Although I only tested what it was, as I had no clue what it was - I was young then... Maybe I should try it again some time. ;)

I wouldn't know since those are the kind of shows I laugh at and then walk off  Beyond the obvious ones such as Ikkitousen and Tenjou Tenge I can't say.

I usually avoid fan service shows but i gave Ikkitousen a chance. 2 episodes i watched. I will never get thet time back

Kanokon i think is going to break the record for fanserver. Its nuts, but good in a way... its addictive ok!

Here, here! I'm actually enjoying Kanokon.

Fanservice is fanservice, and you have to leave your criticisms at the door. Judging an anime based on the merits of other genres is always going to leave you short. If you can just enjoy it for what it is, there's sometimes a good bit of entertainment in those shows.

If you want tasteful fan-service (not an oxymoron! :p), watch Re: Cutie Honey.

I'm not too critical of of anime with heavy fan-service as long as it's not trying too hard to be something else (Ikkitousen, Tenjou Tenge, etc).

I think that's the only show that include Lolicon references. That woman who created the manga must be out of her mind =P Mind you, after reading that Manga because I was kinda studying it to see what's the major problem (and I was really suffering through it), it just seems... sad. It makes me wonder if she ever been molest to go like that... and I feel sorry for that damn teacher.

Never mind fanservice... that go way beyond that.

Colorful! is pretty good for that kind of thing. Wasn't keen on Eiken at all, but yeah Najica and the Burn Up series are safe bets.
