The *Im looking for* thread.

For folks who've bought from CEX before how likely is it that a collector's edition listing only has the discs/cases and the chipboard box? i.e. will it be missing extras like postcards, slipcover (for some releases that had slipcase additionally to the box), booklet, poster etc? Is there any alternative that's better about listing description?? I'm looking at a CE with a slipcase and booklet, but the listing doesnt say w/ booklet like some other CE listings but there is a separate standard bd and dvd listing soo

I'd have to get a friend to order it from there but half the point for me is for the CE stuff so if it doesn't come with it I'd want to return it but it'd be nice to know if i should expect it or not have to worry about it esp since returns would be so much hassle for this person doing me a favor.

It's kinda a gamble with CeX unless you're buying in person.

In my experience, I've got all the bits significantly more often than not, and generally in good condition. Sometimes standards and CEs are listed under the same item so it can be a gamble which one arrives, but it's easy to return stuff if it's not what you want (although maybe a bit harder to coordinate for you if you're not in the UK).

It is, unfortunately, a complete gamble. CeX don’t grade media like they do electronics which I’ve always found a bit odd, like they’ll buy/sell a steelbook or chipboard boxed set that’s scuffed to all hell for the exact same price as a mint condition one. Guess it’s just not worth their time to have multiple price listings for media items and have staff grade them.

I’ve had wins ordering from CeX (a near mint OOP CE cheaper than anyone was asking anywhere else) I’ve had losses (a CE that came as a digipak in a very loose slipcover, missing the actual box that was supposed to be in between the two). If they have something you think is a bargain or particularly hard to find (or both), it’s probably worth the risk. Otherwise private sellers on eBay can be a better option since at least they can provide photos of the item so you know what you’re getting.

Yeah the only place I can find it is CEX but I haven't been looking for long tbf just a couple months. There's a couple other CEs that are just wayy less expensive too, particularly the CR releases since they don't go on sale nearly as much nor as often as AL or MVM have.

Well I'll see if they are willing to help me even if they might have to return it ahaha

Possibly also worth mentioning that from the CeX website you can check the stock of any product in store and see exactly which stores copies are located in. If any of those stores are near your friend, perhaps they could visit and buy for you in person if the condition was acceptable? Not suggesting you make them do a hundred mile round trip or anything, just if there happens to be a CeX with stock down the road from them.

I'll def look into it and yeah only if it's not out of the way for them for suree. For now though I'mma wait until post holidays to bother them lol

Yeah, I want everything from the sets but if anyone has any of the sets listed I'm definitely interested in buying so far, my main one that I would like would be Evangelion

Looking for the USA Aria Blu Rays, willing to pay the higher prices. Really frustrated I missed those.

Just on the off chance someone here bought the UK versions too, which is my last resort. Personally I prefer the USA releases for convenience
I have the US kickstarter set but you'd have to pry it out of my cold dead hands before you could get it.....! LOL But seriously, Aria is #2 on my list of all time favorite anime series.

I'm looking for Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann. Specifically these editions:

Shipping to Germany must be possible

I've been searching for a paperback of Reincarnated as a Sword (Light Novel) Vol. 6, but try as I might I cannot find it anywhere.

If you access the US version of the Crunchyroll store you can find it as a backorder option, but if you order it they just cancel and refund you.

Crunchyroll has the Cats Eye seasons for sale still:)

Thanks for letting me know Herano. I actually stumbled across the fact they were in stock a while back and ordered. Also managed to get Lupin Bye Bye Lady Liberty despite it previously being discussed as being out of print by some places online.

You probably already now, but Discotek is going to release a complete collection for the Galaxy Express 999 tv series:).

I'd love to get either part 1 or the complete bluray set of Sentai's Cross Ange release, all I've been able to find and get was part 2. One thing I'll say is that I refuse to pay absurd prices for them, though.
