Escaflowne was one of the few series I knew was Anime back in the day, despite the FOX Kids Edits, atleast YTV aired the whole series twice before it ended. So my vote goes to Hitomi.
 
I dont understand why there is so much hate towards One Piece here? This is what happens when you let 4kids touch anime and ruin it.

As for the battle, my vote obviously goes for Nami. One Piece being one of my fave anime and all lol.
Although Escaflowne is one on my fave mecha anime, and was one of the first anime i watched properly, i didnt like Hitomi much. I fely that she always got is Van's way. So yeah, Nami gets my vote. Plus she is so much hotter :p
