The General Conversation Area

In one week my new bookcase should be delivered. So I’ve managed to get most of my stuff into boxes and I hope to spend next weekend getting things in order. This requires getting rid of a lot of stuff but hopefully that will also work out.

Got really bored at 1am and went through two boxes (of twelve) and set aside things to get rid off. My tactic is to get rid of 20% of my collection and it’s easier for movies and games than it sounds. Manga and anime is going to be harder but one thing at a time.


15/01 - I've been up late every night sorting through boxes and shelves. It's marvellous fun but I'm doing nothing besides eating, sleeping, working and thinking about new old things to get rid off. So no movies or anime or books for me.

Do they still have the partnership with National Trust to offer free or reduced price entry for English Heritage members?
 
The pricing of CEX when selling anime is a bit all over the place. Such as for one MVM title which was spilt over 2 releases, they were offering £5 for part 1 but 50p for part 2. I can only assume they have a surplus of the Part 2s. It will be interesting tomorrow afternoon when I drop off the various titles in the local store (as it includes some DVDs which can't be posted). All being well, that should be just over £100 coming my way, even managed to get some money for some later Family Guy/American Dad DVDs, which was better than expected.

The biggest surprise was being offered £10 for a DVD copy of GATE!

Can't really see this as anything but a positive for everyone tbh. Fans get a really good release while non-fans will benefit from Criterion having a guaranteed moneymaker that will support their other projects.

As a side note we also have a TV/Movie announcements thread that's probably more appropriate for news like this.
