Oh dear diety on a stick sold as a cheap commodity for hungry children, just seen the "listener" at work and she's manages to wrangle out my comic book dream and my interest in "mangas" as she calls them. Now I have to show her my work next time and I've only just gotten used to the iPad with traces, having the skill of a 5 year old chimp without them.

Should I bring my volumes of Berserk in and say I wrote it?
I can imagine a very interesting response...

It...has one or two design flaws, I'll admit! 😅😄

While I wouldn't buy them myself, some Gundam models I've seen look really neat! The level of detail is really impressive! 😮

How long have you been building? 🙂

Since I was a kid and my dad bought me a model of an old warship as a surprise. I stopped for a while in my early adult life but wanted to pick it up again a few years ago. I have a bad habit of not getting around to painting them however. Here is a non-gundam related model I built fairly recently

It's a model kit from (would you believe) a large boardgame I kickstarted (possibly the worlds most expensive but unique boardgame at that) called Kingdom Death Monster.

This is what I built so far (wow I need to polish that glass, also that necromancer girl on the box is a WIP as she is missing her arms and Skellyton friend)

This game is heavily inspired by Berserk which is what drew me to it but it's very good fun as well and highly rated :)

Oh my gosh, look at them all! 😃 😄

That's some collection, dude! Loads to paint when you get around to it! 😃 There's some level of detail in those! Now you just have to paint them! Some of the Gundam models I saw were really authentic looking actually - they even had airbrushing and rusty "battle damage" painted on for authenticity!

So you actually invented the game? 🤔 😮 Or came up with the concept? Oh man that box of parts! 🤣

Oh no I had nothing to do with this game, I'm not that creative lol. The creator is a guy named Adam Poots who started his own company when this Kickstarter became a hit. I just threw money at it.

Yeah a great painter can do wonders for a model. I hope to get that good myself one day (it will never happen while I keep putting it off). Here's that same Pheonix I showed you above painted by someone with skill

Ah, I see! "Take my money!" 🤣 😃 😄 😅 😆

Wow, yeah, that's some really good blending. I used to paint (not models, just pictures), but it's something I haven't done in ages. I tend to just stick to doodling these days - it's much more fun and it's a bit more...instant. I think there's a degree of setup required when you intend to do some painting - preparing the paints and other equipment, then there's other stuff like tissues and putting down anything to prevent too much mess. I think you need to invest a good chunk of time if you're going to do it, especially when it's something a bit more specialist like this, and sometimes, you just don't have that time to spare 😕
