Regarding my accent, I actually used to get that from customers when I worked in retail. "So where abouts in Wales are you from?" and they'd look at me in surprise when I told them I'm from Wrexham - they think my accent belongs in Gwynnedd, where the "proper" North Welsh accents are. It's funny, because I don't think my accent is strong, yet it does come out more when I talk to strangers, or on the phone, or indeed, if I visit North West Wales. My Dad's family are from Blaenau Ffestiniog, so they're "proper" Welsh.

well bless your luck you're nof south walian. they may ask you where abouts you from, but any english bugger doesn't ask if your accent is southern, they know. they don't ask from where, they just want to confirm you are welsh. you know, you could tell that tom jones is welsh and he's not from far away from me (my granddad hates him for some reason) and I think the south gets more sheep sh***ing comments then the north. also, you have to climb all the paths and roads in your district like an ant in the south

I'm not a fan of Tom Jones either, I must a gree with your Grandad...

As for the sheep comments, I've had my fair share. All in jest, mind you... ;)

New Zealand is the sheep capital of the world though; 20 per head...
