My Mum recalls the time when broadcasting stopped after a certain time and you had the "test screen" thing, I think it was a girl and a chalkboard with a clown or something...

We had only black and white TV on an outdoor antenna at home until after I left for college... a glorious 6 local channels to choose from, and maybe 4 or 5 really fuzzy channels from Philadelphia, 80 miles away...

It's legendary! And this, obviously:
Ah-HA! I wondered that. So it doesn't exist after all, eh? The people claiming to have "done" that are just making it up? I knew it!The latter is a myth Neil c'mon.
You're welcomeYou need to check out the thread with Japanese adverts, THEN come back to me telling me you're scared of the TV!
I watch exactly one thing on tv nowadays: old reruns of Top of the Pops, they're currently on 1985. There's the occasional documentary but other than that there's not much else I'd bother viewing. The thing is, I think there's TOO many channels now, well, especially with Sky and (I guess it's cable for you?). I just don't think it's necessary. I mean it's good to have a choice of different things, but there's repeats of channels, like you have ITV, then ITV+1, then ITV extra, I can't Believe It's Not ITV, etc, etc...

I use my tv for anime. That’s about it.
When I was really young, around the same time your kids would be the remote, I remember when satalite was analogue. You'd try to get cartoon network or something only to be met with mostly static. We would solve this by stamping near the telly problem solved! Oh and you didn't choose the channels like sky today, you literally tuned the channel in like a radioI...Just...WHY?!
When I were a young lass, I WAS the remote...had to get off my butt and change the channel manually, on the TV itself!
