The Colors Within, Home release - A Research Project

Given the UK home release for The Colors Within is MIA (I'm personally blaming all these Naruto and Bleach editions taking up time and energy within ATA!) and desparate for news I took a peak at home releases for The Best Film I Saw Last Year Out of 51 Films. Below is a summary of other region home releases for The Colors Within.

We have very different language and subtitle availability and notably only the GKIDs release makes mention of the short film Garden of Remembrance. It would be a crying shame if the UK version skips this too given the lovely reception we had for it at SLA2022.

99% chance that the UK release shares discs with their German/Italian Plaion brethren, just like City Hunter Angel Dust. I pre-ordered the German Collector's Edition (should hopefully start shipping on June 5, 2 weeks before official release date).

Definitely the most likely case but the Plaion editions are also quite different with the Italian release offering a lot more options including the German language!

Aside from the packaging, there's no difference between the Italian Limited Edition and German Collector's Edition. Same disc contents and languages. Extras are the same, just described in more detail by the Italian side. Both also include the soundtrack CD.

The The Colors Within home releases vary by region:

• TOHO (Japan): Deluxe edition with multiple bonus features.

I got the UK standard last week from AOL, single disc Blu-ray 16:9 1080p with Japanese, English,
Italian, and German audio, and English, German, Italian subtitles.
