The 'Boxing' Thread

I just don't see how anyone could see a still frame of Evans as he's going/gone down and think "yeah, this is a good idea". I know some people would say the same thing about boxing, and probably think I'm mad for separating the two, but my "line" just happens to have boxing on one side and MMA on the other for whatever reason.

I see what you mean about MMA. They call boxing the sweet science but MMA the savage science.

Did you manage to catch Berto over the weekend? I didn't see the fight but he seems to be moving along pretty nicely now. Not to sure how he's gonna cope with the elite level operators at welterweight. Mosley & Cotto are beatable for Berto but I can't see him causing Williams much of a problem. I'd like to see Mosley go for Berto or Williams. Either that or see Williams move up and take on Pavlik. That'd be a great fight.

Also, can't believe Cintron actually won a fight against a decent operator in Angulo. Not a big fan of Cintron at all. Especially after Martinez being robbed. Cintron came off like such a whiny idiot and crying during the first Margarito fight. Dude irks me.

I've got both fights sitting on my hard-drive, not got around to watching them yet. I've got some time for Cintron, because I just like guys who can knock people out, but yeah not the most endearing person. I'd like to see Williams move up, too, as he obviously has the look of someone who could handle the step up.

Berto - I'm not sure yet. Having been hyped for this long, you feel like they can't wait much longer before getting him in the mix with the real big boys, but I'd like to see this fight before saying any more - it can be hard to look good against Urango, he's an interesting test so there could be something to take out of the fight.

Jeez, you go away a few days and look what happens. Haye/Vlad is not gonna happen now. DAMN, what a joke if this doesn't happen. I don't know what to think of the matter. I hope Haye's injury is legitimate and I hope it happens on July 11th.

Also, what about Pacquiao/Mosley? Damn, that is just asking too much of Pacquiao. Dude has some balls if he takes this fight.

Finally, who do think would win between Lopez & Caballero?

DAMN, did anyone watch Cotto/Clottey? What a great fight. maestro, who do you think won it? For me, Cotto won it clearly and probably would have won it a lot more comfortably if not for the cut. Cotto showed great bravery in this fight, with the cut eye and some of the shots he took. Sticks a middle finger up to those who questioned his heart in the Margarito fight. Dude faced adversity head on and still managed to pull out the win. As for Clottey, he blew it big time, it was his to win but he bottled it in the final few rounds. That was a pleasure to watch.
