It's Monday afternoon, I'm bored. The Oscars were on last night and I'm grouchy that I didn't win a single one of them (I thought I had Best Supporting Actress in the bag!). So I thought, hey, why not have some fun? I'll get you guys to nominate/vote for which 2012 anime you think deserves to win various categories.

Here are the rules though:
1) Nominations/voting are open from the moment the thread is posted. However, they close on 4th March 2013 at 23:59. Once the votes are closed, they will be tallied up and the winners announced.
2) Only anime released in 2012 are eligible. This includes any region (such as Japan, America, Europe, Australia, Antarctica etc). Series' that started in 2012 but are still ongoing are still eligible.

This cuts me out. I don't watch Crunchyroll or similars (except the first episode of Time of Eve just to decide to buy the BD), don't download anything... from 2012 I've seen only Poppy Hills at the cinema, too few to vote for something.

Didn't watch that many airing series during 2012... I don't really watch dubs so I left out a lot of those categories, and a few others I didn't really have an opinion on - mainly due to not remembering enough detail - like in the orginal score category, for example.

The Royal family are avid anime fans Ayase, the Queen is a big massive fan of Harem anime.

Missing the razzies, since I liked everything I watched last year.
 
I'm going to post a full list at some point, even though the deadline has passed. For now I will just say that it warms my heart to see JinTai mentioned by mmore than one other person, as I think that was the best show of the year and I do not think it was remotely close.

Was there any specific reason for the massive backlash against SAO?
