Play.com are listing the Sony-Pictures licensed Tekkon Kinkreet as being set for a UK DVD release on 3rd September, 2007 (the same release date as Paprika).

Tekkon Kinkreet is an acclaimed anime movie from 2006 that is well known in the anime community for being one of the first features directed by a foreigner in Michael Arias. It was adapted from a manga by the respected Taiyo Matsumoto (Ping Pong) and animated by Studio 4C - the visionary animation house behind the likes of Noiseman Sound Insect and Comedy. The soundtrack was composed by English electronica band "Plaid". Click here to see the Tekkon Kinkreet trailer.

There are several things that I'm really looking forward concerning Tekkon Kinkreet. The unique art direction and animation look absolutely awesome, utterly Studio 4C. Also I'm interested to see more of Taiyo Matsumoto's work given I adore the quirky and emotionally layered "Ping Pong". Paprika and Tekkon Kinkreet on the same day? BEST DAY EVER!

Can't say I've heard of this, although the 4 degrees C connection has grabbed my interest. Ping Pong is a great film as well!

The manga version is called 'Black and White', published by Viz...not 'typical' manga style (more European, sketch/doodle style), but I really like it
