Super Mario RPG Sequel *Now includes FF Milkitude*

Remember the first Mario RPG on Super Nintendo, created by Square Enix, who at the time were known as Square.

Now we have a sequel, which was mention on another forum. But it came from a Magazine, so it's legit.

On Friday, November 23, 2007, RPG Magazine’s issue number 5 wrote, “Square-Enix is considering bringing back Super Mario RPG by making a sequel on the DS. The sequel would include more characters from the Final Fantasy universe.â€

Well, if it's an RPG, then it won't appeal to Mario's usual audience. So, stamping Final Fantasy across there will, of course, make it vastly more profitable for Square Enix.

Final Fantasy characters in, well, any kind of game sells me entirely on that game. I'm the kind of person Square Enix has in mind when they put their characters in other games, and there's many more people exactly like me :]

Also: "Milkitude", wtf?

I wouldn't be too sure about that, magazines say the darndest things.

Anyway, I can't say that the ambiguous "RPG Magazine" is anything I've ever heard of.

DO NOT WANT. By "more FF characters" they mean "Cloud and Sephiroth" Could this possibly hint to them being in Brawl since Megaman is de-confirmed? First Sonic then Cloud?... ;_;
 
Aww man again with the DS! Gonna make me angry... They need to improve their main consoles game list (Wii) in my opinion.

I remember getting an emulator in order to try the other Mario RPG. It would usually be a good thing to get a game free, right? Wrong... Emulators have a tendency to feck up, so i got quite far but it didnt save.

MAKE FOR WII THEN ME BE HAPPYZ! :3

Also about them being in braawl, i think they have stopped putting new characters into braawl now and are focusing more on the cinematics for each character and levels.
 
Nah, I don't think any Square Enix characters will show up in Brawl. They probably don't want to devalue the upcoming Dissidia game.

As for Wii, well, I sold my Wii (because it was crap) so I hope it ends up on DS, if it is actually going to happen.

I really don't like Nintendo so the chances of me buying a game filled with nothing but their characters was slim anyway :p
 
What the hell, Mario and FF? Thats a mix I would hate to see. I'm sick of all these mario crossovers, we'll see Mario and the jetsons I bet at some point...
This topic has made me angry for no reason, I was considering buying Mario Galaxy on christmas eve, but I think I'll just "save" my money instead now

Mario Galaxy is a well good game! I do very much doubt that they will add FF and Mario characters together tho... maybe a few (thats if they even do make a sequel).

There's no need for a Mario RPG 2. The Mario RPG series has already successfully split into two separate series, Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi.

So the Square Enix fanboy made it up.

Do not look at me, if I was going to make a rumour like that. I use SMT characters. Anyway, It's worth sharing, and Square Enix are considering it.

This belongs in the Rumour Mill.
 
FF characters were in the Mario basketball game too, so it's not like it's something shocking. Put the razorblades and pitchforks away

If this game is even real or whatever, I don't see any harm in there being like...chocobos or mogs or generic black mages and stuff.
 
I see two things wrong with what's been said in this thread.

1) Adding angst ridden and underfed girls posing as boys to the Mario universe (also known as FF characters).

2) People making generalisations about the Wii, when they obviously don't even have a clue what the hell they're talking about.
