Syfy is on Channel 115 on Sky. Before BBC Three. I'm sure plenty of people came across it whilst channel surfing last night.

Also, have you seen Syfy's friggen ratings?

I'll admit I don't watch SyFy now, and it's sad that, because it was Sci-Fi that got me addicted to anime way back in 1999 with Tenchi Muyo, but hey-ho all things change, and not always for the better. I got fed up from going there only to see more of the same old boring over pretentious US crap.
 
When I saw Akira was on, it was the only time I regretted not having Sky any more.

But with DVDs...I still don't see it being worth renewing my rip off subscription.

Yeah. They showed the Geneon dub, which I thought was really good (although, I have never seen the Streamline dub, and I like most dubs. As long as they aren't earbleedingly bad)

Also, TIL that there's a 3rd English dub of Akira available on UMD.
 
The Streamline dub is good Paradox, wiki states that Cam Clarke did the voice of Kaneda but I'm not too sure if that's true

AKA Liquid Snake :D , I think there's still some DVDs on Amazon with the Streamline dub on them but that was about a year ago
