Sorry again guys but... I need help.

If anybody remembers me, i think i was last active about 2 and a half weeks ago. i haven't been online as mother... uh... saw my internet history and im on a month-long computer ban. feel my pain - this is being typed on a f!@king 3ds.

that explains my absence and grammar mistakes, now...

Highschool dxd is back on up1 and i really want it but their item description makes it sound like porn to my dad.

how can i convince him -or trick him- into letting me get it?

i'm 12/borderline 13 and am allowed to watch any 15 rated things.

last month i got away with buying girls bravo with him only asking me -
'Finlay... is this anime porn?'

If you're talking about the LE (Which I assume you are) then if I were you, I'd let it go. It'd just make things worse for yourself.
The actual covers on the BD cases has the girls half naked.
The inside of one of the BD cases has Rias naked, whilst the inside of the other case has the other girls half naked etc.
And then there's the throwaway back cover with the typical American OTT description which also has Rias half naked on it.

I can't imagine your parents being best impressed if they were to see it, and I wouldn't be surprised if it further cemented their opinion that Anime is all just porn.

Not to mention Rias' breasts are half exposed on the spine, with the spine slightly bigger on the LE version.

I'll be honest, for your age it's a bit too soon to watch shows in the ecchi/fan-service genre (Haganai is an exception since it's not that bad in terms of its sexual content). I would personally leave the 18-rated content for online purposes only (and use Chrome's Incognito mode to avoid search history) rather than buying the physical product just until you're about 14-15, because usually by that age parents will see you have matured and could reduce the amount of restriction put on you. For instance I couldn't watch 18-rated stuff and play mature games (especially Resident Evil) until I was about 14-15.

In fact, lying will make things worse and then even worse when one of them (or any sibling/friend with you) witnesses a show like High School DxD would then flip and embarrass you (especially if you live in an area where people declare anime as either kids cartoons or hentai, like I had to put up with for a while [until I showed them Nichijou]).

tl;dr

Don't bother with 18 rated shows until the time is right.
Unless it's only strong violence (like Deadman Wonderland) then I guess it's reasonable to state that, though Berserk and Gantz are mainly violent do have sexual themes.

Your dad really isn't wrong there, HighSchool DxD pretty much is soft-core pornography (it just lacks the actual act of sex).

Honestly, I agree with NormanicGrav that lying to your parents can only risk making things a lot worse. Your parents being concerned about your online history and grounding you for it clearly shows that they don't believe that you are ready for those kind of things. If you go behind their back or trick them into letting you buy such things, it will seriously backfire. I'm not even convinced that HighSchool DxD would get through the BBFC if someone tried to bring it over here (I wonder if Asia and Koneko will push it too close to the Dangerous Publications act?). The best thing you can do at the moment is to respect your parents' decision and over the next couple of years or so, show them that you are mature (by making sure you always do your homework, can do chores around the house etc. Y'know, crap like that). Maybe by then you'll be able to pick it up for much cheaper anyway? :p

Personally, I'm a 21 year old guy (22 next month) and because I live at home, I very rarely buy any ecchi anime/manga and when I do, I make sure it's discretely hidden amongst the rest of my manga/dvd libraries, so no one will find them (and even then, I'm paranoid that my mum or little brother will pick up my French volumes of To Love Ru Darkness). The reason why I don't personally own HighSchool DxD yet (aside from money), is that my blu-ray shelf is located in the main hallway and that spine...well. However, I watch and read a hell of a lot of ecchi stuff online.

Not going to add anymore comments in regards to DxD as these guys have pretty much covered it. I will add that I agree tricking and/or lying to your parents isn't a good idea. Will only serve to make things worse for your self and you could end up losing any trust they have in you.

Just buy Mad Bull 34, they’ll be fine with that. XD

Srsly though, movies would be a better idea since theres a lot on blu in the UK, and are cheaper than importing a series.
If you haven’t seen any Ghibli movies, start with either Cagliostro or Princess Mononoke, and your parents will likely be okay with those, since they don’t have a lot of nasty content, if any. Satoshi Kon stuff might be a bit tricky, but Paprika and Tokyo Godfathers work.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Memories-DVD-Ko ... mories+dvd This works as well. Fantastic anthology.

Sorry if I got slightly of topic, just doing this for your benefit and for the greater good.

Going to have to echo the above posters, tricking him is going to be bad, he may ask you about a title but that doesn't also mean he can't look it up himself.

The language the main character uses (not foul) in the opening few minutes and a various points throughout is going to land you in trouble let alone the rest.

You mentioned also getting Haganai a while, that's a show you could quite easily have him sit with you and watch a few episodes.

I think there is a thread here :p :D . I have a few ecchi and hentai titles in my collection, not to mention alot of fanservice heavy titles. The reason I've got away with it is more to the fact my parents took little to do with my interests and always respected my space, but at the same time I have been approached and I am under no illusion that my mother knows where things were kept. They would only interveen If they thought I was doing something stupid, more so if I flagged things by lying about them. As every response you've had, don't disrespect your parents. Talking from experience of my own they can be killjoys, but they have you and your interests at heart and don't want you being involved in things you may not understand. Be honest with them and explain exactly why you want DxD (they probably already know) and if they say no, be a man about it and respect their decision. It's hard but it's better for you in the long run.

On a side point, a lot of 18+ anime is pure porn or violence with little story or wow factor (talking through experience). You'll get more fun from 12+ and 15+ anime these days.

Maken ki is a better choice in my opinion,

First you need a DVD player that plays multiplayer regions

And as for buy the DVDs why get let one of us buy it for you and you pay it back to us

I assume he needs his dad to get it in the first place because he doesn't have a credit or debit card. In which case, how would he pay you back other than stuffing some cash in the post?

If it was just a case of being unable to get a hold of said title for what ever reason I'm sure someone could help out.

But as cudwieser has indicated, parents are not stupid, they do know what's up the majority of the time. The fallout from finding out that he'd circumvented their wishes by having someone else buy it would be massive.

It should be available for a good few years, and they could well do what they did with Sekirei and offer 2 seasons in one set at a later date. If you must have the LE I suppose it could be bought and held by your parents for a year or two.

I said one of us could.

Worst case scenario is if you leave it you could be left hunting E Bay and Amazon marketplaces for the more optimistically priced examples (an option to be taken seriously).

AF, would you buy it for him even though it seems clear that his parents don't wish for him to have it?

And also, imagine this. "Finlay, where did you get this?" "Erm.... some random guy on the Internet bought it for me and sent it to me." If he got a month long computer ban just for browser history (Private browsing is your friend, kiddo) I dread to think what the consequences of that would be.

You might think your parents are stupid, but they do have your best interests at heart. If you really want to own the show, wait till you're 15 and buy it for yourself.

You think Maken Ki is better than Highschool DXD, as these sort of shows go DXD is probably one of the better ones Maken Ki is one of the worst.

At least with HighSchool DxD, you can say you watch it for the plot and not be completely lying.

I'm not sure the argument 'Yes it has boobs but there's also plot' is very sound though

Works better than with Strike Witches.

I'd like to say the mighty BBFC have decreed it's a 12, but on reflection if it's a choice of High School DxD or Strike Witches, I'd go with High School as boobs are somewhat more forgivable than the alternative.
