Sonic Unleashed

Im thinking of getting the PS2 version in the sales.

Anyone else own this game?

Interesting that the PS2 and Wii versions generally got better scores than the 360 and PS3 versions.

Yeah and I think it's a load of bull imo. The Wii/PS2 version are more worse as it contains more werehog levels... (and have unresponsive buttons). It sounds more like the reviewers forced themselves to not enjoy the game. I've got the PS3 version and it IS the best 3D sonic game since Adventure 2.

It's not great or a return to form. But it's on the right track.

sonic defence force team go.

Have you ever tried the new Sonic Unleashed?

Oh and before we go on forward. I thought Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 was **** and glitch fested. I thought Shadow the Hedgehog was ****. I thought Sonic Heroes was meh, but a good game to play.

So I'm not a mindless Sonic fan who defend every of his **** games. But Sonic Unleashed GETS bashed waaay too much.

I disagree. Sonic Rush Adventure is a fantastic game, probably up there with Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Sonic Unleashed however...

Honestly it takes ages before you actually get to any proper gameplay because of all the training levels and loading. For training it should have been one long level with EVERYTHING on that, not having to load a new stage for each individual move. Pain in the arse.

The game is fast moving if not a little confusing to control, that is until you get to the werehog stages where the game just becomes dull and it's where I gave up.

Really the game hasn't got that much going for it except for the amazing looking introduction movie. If I saw that when I was younger around when Sonic 3 came out I can confirm that my head would have burst wide open.

Yeah. I've only seen my brother play it also. He seems to love it and thinks Sonic should always go that fast. Sonic should be fast, but not so fast that he is unplayable. It might just be looks, though. When I played the demo a week or so ago, it was pretty enjoyable for the few minutes it was.

Graphically, it's splendid but the frame-rate isn't particularly pleasing to the eye. Musically, eh, I like Crush40 music. Furry-wise, it's not awful since I've rarely seen that creature but I still don't get the Sonic Team's obsession with putting strange humanoid's into the game... Heck, why does it even need a HUB.

Meh. The game is a basis for another good game, so at least, in four years time the Hedgehog Engine might produce something worthwhile.

Sy's right...the intro movie looks GREAT.

I like the game though (even the cheesy cutscenes)...the werehog stuff is better than I expected, but I prefer the fast stuff.

Far, FAR better then the 2006 game.

I liked the original Sonic Rush, but I never got around to seeing how Adventure turned out. It seemed to be announced, then a month later it was released... Plus, I find it hard to justify paying £25 for a DS game. Same applies to Chronicles and even that Ace Attorney series.

Sonic Rivals, I remember from a couple of years back on the PSP. It was American developed, and didn't even get a Japanese release but that was a pretty damn good Sonic game, with some good looking levels. Rivals 2 looks... interesting; it has upbeat vocal pop-rock Sonic music.
