I don't get why everyone complains about the junction system, i never found it hard to get my head around it, also first time i played through i finished the game without ever touching upon junctioning magic to HP and STR and ****. So i don't see what is to really complain about it.

If people don't like it then they should just not use it.

 Wow, nice job there, i managed to get halfway through the game before i realised that i could now junction to HP (seriously) My latest playthrough i did what my friend did and maxed out the stats best i could but i got bored before i could finish it

hahaha thanks :D same goes for me but i am even more of a noob because i didn't realise you could junction stuff to your stats until my second playthrough when i actually listened to the tutorials .

I did what you did on my second playthrough now realising i could junction stuff to my stats, by the end of disc 1 i had over 3000HP with my main party, i was like WTF!

Yeah my friend though...man i don't know what kind of hours he clocked on it in the latest runthrough, he was drawing mid level magic before he got to galabardia garden, and beat sifer in one hit when it came to it

******* hell thats insane, he must have spent some serious hours power leveling to be able to do that, also did you ever get squalls ultimate weapon on disc 1?

Indeed, you have to do some serious monster killing and hour burning though i think, but it is possible to have squalls final weapon on disc1, after all you only need the materials for the weapon to appear in smithing shop thing.

Imagine being able to perform the lion heart renzokuken from the 1st disc though

Final Fantasy VIII was the FF to get me into FFs. It's better than most of the others in some ways... but a lot worse as well. Replaying it over Easter was illuminating. I think I'd take FFIX over it for the simple reason that 'doing everything' in both games is the difference of about 40 hours, and those lengthy FFVIII sidequests are barely worth doing anyway.

And VII is just VI with uglier graphics. You heard me.
