According to the official website of DVD distributors <a href="http://www.pinnacle-vision.co.uk/titles/label_release.php?Label=R581">Pinnacle Vision</a>, Revelation Films <a href="http://www.pinnacle-vision.co.uk/titles/label_release.php?Label=R581">intend to release</a> School Rumble (including a starter set) on UK DVD starting 21st January, 2008.

Produced in 2004, School Rumble is an aptly titled high-school based romantic comedy; the first season of which is 26 episodes.

Ugh, so many starter sets, why do you tease us like this, Revelation Films!? I might buy it myself, maybe, I'll have to take a look at the first episode and see if it's worthy of purchase.

^_^ cool. I was wondering if this was on its way to the UK. And ^_^ starter set. I have they're Moon Phase, BECK and Tsubasa starter sets and they are awsome!

Well, this shows that Revelation are having success with the starter sets, and hopefully it's something that will stay.

wtf!?
i just ordered this starter set, AND the witchblade starter set last week!?
why...so soon?...GAH!, now i am thinking if i should cancel it and get the UK release or just wait for my R1 version....GAH!?

The MVM release of Witchblade is not the same as the US FUNimation release so you could possibly keep that on order to get the case. The Revelation release will (more than likely) be using the FUNimation tin so either way would make no difference short of one being R1 and the other R2 (price differences not withstanding).

The MVM version is not the same as the Funi version of Witchblade? hmm you put a smile on my face lol. by any chance do you know what the differences will be between the two?

i think i will stick to the R1 releases of both...-_-

My point was that the R2 UK Witchblade will not come with the US box for the series. In many respects it will be the same, probably having the same episode count and possibly the same extras but this is by no means cerain. Revelation's release of School Rumble on the other hand will almost certainly be a carbon copy of the US release in terms of episodes and extras and will have the same tin as the US release. If you are not bothered by having the box for Witchblade then buy UK; otherwise get the US volume 1 and get the rest as you see fit.

I bought School Rumble's starter set acouple of weeks back (R1), and I gotta say, this is one of the funniest series i've seen in quite awhile!

Well worth checking out.

I wonder how they translated a lot of the puns and double entendres. In the fansubs I saw of the series there was a LOT of them and there constantly had to be explanations appearing at the top of the screen and in the process not being very funny. Not really the shows fault it just seemed like a lot was lost in translation.

I wonder if Revelation will ever dive into Funimation's back catologue instead of constantly bringing out new releases? They're doing good, but there's a lot of gems in Funi's history.

Revelation are not working an autonomous anime licensor and are simply acting as a distribution agent for FUNimation. As such they have no control about what they get from FUNimation. They simply release what they are given to release. Any such release depends entirely upon whether FUNimation acquired the UK rights to the series at the time and if they see any potential for it in our market.

Yeah, but I'm still wondering, aren't I?

one thing i like about revelation is that u can pick up the boxset at the begining without having to buy ythe series the first and than realise that they have brought the boxset afterwards! it sure saves shelf space!

I cant wait for this to be released ive just recently got a glimpse of one of the schoool rumble episodes and found it great. I thank you revelation films :D

Can someone explain the starter set deal to me as if I'm a 3 year old?
Is the starter set the same as volume 1 except it comes with a case to store the rest of series, or is there less actual content then the vol1 dvd?

I know this sounds silly and it might just be Play making mistakes but they have the starter set listed with a lower running time than the vol1 dvd

Starter sets are the same as Artboxes, Therefore its the exact some volume one with something to store the entire series in, They sometimes give you extras, such as CDs, Posters, That is a rarity in the UK market though.

Some are awesome, Some aren't that awesome. Still, its cool to have them.
