When his cat Baabu dies, Chihiro and Rea use an ancient book of the occult to raise it from the dead. What Chihiro does not know is that Rea wants to leave her responsibilities behind and wishes to die and be reborn as a different type of person....a zombie.</em>

Nice, I'm hoping that Crunchyroll announces this one sometime today. I really liked Umisho from the same author and the Sankarea manga looked pretty interesting as well!

See I've got mixed feelings about this one. I LIKE the manga, I seem to be one of the few manga readers (and I'm an occasional one at that) that I know that follow this, as its a quirky romance although a little disturbing if you think some things through at times.

BUT, the manga hasn't been going that long and certainly isnt finished...with some a framework I'm not sure how good the anime could really be.

I really liked how they handled the first episode. It seemed quite accurate to the manga, though the tone actually felt slightly more serious than I remembered the first chapter to be. I stopped reading the manga at around Chapter 13 when they announced this adaptation so that I could keep some surprises for the anime (assuming they get that far!).

The first episode gives me hope that they'll be able deliver a good show, but it'll be interesting to see if they go for an anime-original ending or just leave it open ended for a second season later.

Also I think I might be in love with the ending song :D
