Review: Princess Mononoke

I only watch Mononoke becuase i heard it was from the same studio that did sprited away, i didnt expect it to be as good as it was.

Well i'm not saying anything new when i reiterate that it really is a very good film, wonderful looking as you would only expect from a Miyazaki film, and some pretty powerful meanings behind it

It's miles better than Spirited Away. At least I think so anyway. I'd like to rant about how I did not enjoy Spirited Away. But not today. I'll have to keep my feelings at bay. I just may.

It's hard to compare Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, they are both so different they are bound to please different audiences. I love Mononoke because I'm an action buff, but I certainly respect Spirited Away as a amazing piece of film making.

I'm not making a direct comparison between the two if you were to analyze them as films in detail, I simply enjoyed Mononoke far more the Spirited Away.

Spirited Away was good for visuals, imaginative ideas etc., but it just seemed to bore me quite a bit, and I didn't especially feel for the characters, or where the story was heading whereas in Mononoke I did.

But I agree, I do respect it as a great piece of film making, even if I didn't realy enjoy it.

I had to watch Spirited Away twice before I actually enjoyed it. Maybe you should try it again?! It had much more appeal with the second viewing, plus it made a little more sense too
