Revelation is Gone!

Just Passing Through

The Wildcard
Okay, that's not exactly news, but wandering over to Anime On Line, I noticed that they had got rid of their Funimation section.

It turns out that they only have a couple of Revelation discs left in stock. Beck Volume 4, Spiral Volume 1, Suzuka Volume 4, FMA Volume 8 (although that's probably the MVM disc)...

I had a look on one of those price comparison websites for shows like

FMA, Spiral, Negima, Rumbling Hearts, Tsubasa, Mushishi, Peach Girl, Hell Girl, Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki and the like and it's all gone. Other than the rare volume, nearly everything is coming up out of stock.

So if you're interested in any of these series in Region 2, look for a complete series collection (I believe HMV still has some complete Spirals) and pounce.

Otherwise you've missed your chance.

Are Funimation planning to replace it's distribution through a different company soon?

It dosn't make sense that when they changed their contract with MVM, that they couldn't seem to create a sole company for the UK. You know like ADV had a UK chain

Ack, this does not bode well. Hope Funimation sort out a new distributor soonish or we could see a lot of decent titles vanishing off the shelves.

I was under the impression that Funi had already done this though (as in arrange 'new' distributiond deals)? Pretty much all of their licenses in the last 12 months or so have come through either Manga UK, or MVM anyway!

They have (Manga) they just haven't picked up any old titles.
They stopped distributing these a year ago it just takes that long for the stock to sell out.

It's a shame considering they had a few good shows. It's even worse to think that they didn't complete releasing these good shows =(

Didn't think they were distributing through MVM, thought that was Geneon and Gonzo (who distro though FUNi in the US). They haven't released anything FUNI have licensed yet (that I've noticed).

MVM have re-released Slayers, Slayers Next and Slayers Try, and they also have the UK distribution rights to Slayers Revolution (and Evolution-R?) - the latter two being Funi titles.

Are you sure those are FUNi licenses, and not licenses straiight off the japanese licensor (who will own the sub and dub FUNi did). i.e. does the box say it's FUNi on it.
Like the fact Beez aren't Bandai Ents distributor, they license straight off Bandai.

I can't tell you that for sure yet, as MVM haven't formally released Slayers Revolution or Evolution-R over here yet! THey have announced they own the UK right, as I mentioned. So, your guesstimation is as good as mine.
