Story of my life.
DreamWorks have already purchased the motion picture rights.
All they need to do is find out what ConanThe3rd looks like when he's smirking for the promotional poster.

They could just use his avatar?
Nah, it has to be the "I'm a sexy badass" smirk every DreamWorks character has.

Just got a late reply from MVM. They'll take questions via email for you guys/girls to submit.

Also, last chance for questions for Manga.

And here's the interview in full:

Your questions are answered in the text of the post (not the silly ones, but I did talk about those with Jerome as well!)

If you have follow up questions for either Jerome or Andrew or you asked and it's not in the list in the post, just resubmit them here and I'll pass them along.

Next up, is MVM and Tony will take all of your questions. Could a while before he answers but you never know.

Also, Sylvester from Madman is up next after that. Need a specific question asked, then send them my way.

My question is above, if I think of any more 'goodies' I'll be sure to add them :D

Alex, I did ask Jerome about your question in the interview. I hope you'll be pleased with his answer! :D

Thanks for that. Let's hope he's right about Kaze letting us in on some special editions down the line :)

Cheers Eeeper, interesting stuff. A couple of thoughts:

5] Will we ever see another multinational anime company again [ala ADV, Beez] on these shores? is anyone willing to take the financial risk these days?

No. Why bother? Who needs the hassle when you can just do a sales and distribution deal with Manga?
Maybe, just maybe, if they think they might be able to do a better job than Manga? Manga have a pretty privileged position in the UK all right, but I don't think they should take it for granted by any means.

...there is a risk that some hot new series may be held back from a direct licensing deal with Manga for the UK because the Licensor has decided they can make more money exporting a deluxe box set directly to those fans crazy enough to pay the $200+ they’ll be asking for it. I think that there are some anime producers who like what Bandai and Aniplex is doing (ie. Selling at Japanese prices to fans in foreign territories) and some that are probably as alarmed as I am at this practice. How do you reach a large audience selling a $300 sub-only DVD box set of Garden of Sinners for example? Only a handful of UK fans will fork out for it leaving a potential audience of several thousand fans empty handed.
Except... They're not really are they? At least, not if they have the internet and a little know-how. And I think that's something the Japanese Licensors fail spectacularly to get. These days, pricing people out of the market is only pricing people out of the white and grey markets where you actually earn something from them. They'll get their hands on what they want one way or another. There has to be a price point somewhere between stupidly expensive and ridiculously cheap at which enough people buy something at a high enough price to turn a profit. I think we were at that point a couple of years ago before everything started to get so cheap the distributors had to shift more copies than people were realistically going to buy to turn a profit.

...we do distribute Kaze’s titles in the UK and they love doing deluxe packaging and collector’s editions. They are EU based and ship directly into our warehouse, so I expect to see an increase in fancy editions in the future for all of you guys.
This however, is excellent news. :thumb:

They will be doing a special edition on Princess Jellyfish, i'm very excited to find out what they have to offer, maybe some Tequila or Three Kingdom memorabilia or traditional Japanese dolls or toy trains .....

I like this show too much sometimes.

"I suggested it, but it has been poo-pooed by my operations team as cost prohibitive."

Oh come on now, how could I not post this

Thanks for asking, I'll take a listen through with interest; I found the previous interview with Kaze really good. I read the questions highlighted below the interview before I saw your post so I was worried it'd fallen into the too aggressive or too silly region haha

Edit:
Listening through now and there are one or two wierdities

Funimation never use normal Bluray style cases... because Bestbuy don't have much shelf space for BDs

They're using the standard Amaray BD (see through blue, rather than DVD cases) casings with a slip card over the top, which aside the slipcard are exactly the same as my manga BDs and many other BDs I own (big studio titles), what's not normal about them?
They're certainly not just DVD casings as they're noticeably shorter? Perhaps I'm missing the point of what he's trying to say, but as far as I can see, the typical casings they use are exactly the same as Manga's releases and most other UK releases, and certainly not just DVD casing with BD labels stuck on the inserts etc.

I also find his point about anime fans being impatient to be a bit unfair to label us as a whole.

What Jerome has to remember is some of the shows we're waiting for have been out in the states for well over a year before we see them (or longer). That's simple business, most of us can play a US disc just fine, the language we need is there, and sometimes they're the same price or cheaper. That's not impatience, that's logic.

We're used to a market where the shows we want don't even always arrive on these shores from the US, where is the incentive for us to wait a long time for the release to (sometimes) arrive?

He could do with taking a look at things from the consumers point of view, rather than his own at times.

Edit2:
I understand you had to cut my question down due to time, and also not wanting to cause offence, but it is good that Manga are at least considering starting to do more DP packs.

I believe he means that the majority of Funimation's blu-rays now come in DVD packs as combos. The rare blu-only releases do come, as you rightly say, in normal blu-ray cases. The slip cards are often just for the first run, too. People freak out about the blu-rays-in-DVD-cases thing even on the combo packs, and Funimation has mentioned before that it's better for them to put blu-rays in DVD boxes than the other way around, when selling through brick and mortar stores.

His use of "never" was wrong, but he likes extremes I guess.
