that's 3 months between each volume

now with it already quicker to buy R1 dvd's that it is to wait on R2, surely making people wait 3 months per volume is going to hurt R2 sales, specially given that most R1 volumes are release monthly or bymonthly at the worse

2009 on some of them!? WHOA I could be dead by then, oh well, oh it also seems the final volume of Beck would make a nice Christmas present for me. ; D

needless to say, i won't be buying any Revelation's titles anytime soon, by the time i'd of completed a series i'd have another 50 to watch XD

Next year to finish Beck. SRSLY. I'll import the rest I think. I like how for the most part R1 DVD's are monthly. Just as soon as you get some money again, It goes on the next volume. =/

These could be provisional, or even made up, dates. Time will tell. Though it obviously wouldn't be too peachy if true.

That's absolutely ridiculous! If I would have known I'd have to wait until this time next year to finish Beck and Mushi Shi, I wouldn't have started collecting it!

Exactly my thoughts. I usually take a long time to get through series but not that long.

I somehow doubt that those are real dates, I doubt FUNimation would allow Revilation to be that crap with they're release dates. But meh if they are at least it means that I’ll have easily enough time to save up for the new volumes, blow the money on some other series then still have time to re save XD

I don't mind the wait as it gives me time to save up for each volume, ha ha. :D Am collecting Mushishi so was very interested to see the dates, didn't expect it to be a year before completing the series though. In looking on the up side there are three anime tv series I am keeping track of at the moment so it does help try and space out the spending!

Edit:

Have just read dates for the other anime series and the ones like Tsubasa do seem awfully spaced out, can see why people are not impressed.

I would have preferred that they complete two series, say Moon Phase and Peach Girl before starting two new ones. For someone who'e four volumes into Moon Phase having to wait six months for the last two has got to sting.

There is a board on the forum dedicated to R2UK and R4 (Australia) where the original topic was posted.

I don' mind waiting for the rest of tsubasa to come out but it will give me time to save up for hell girl and school rumble.
That is one way of looking at it but given the size of School Rumble and Tsubasa (both 52+ episodes long) it will take about 4 years to release them at that rate. That is a long time and a huge commitment.

Another way to look at this is by releases per month

If you are trying to keep the number of releases down to around three a month, that makes sense. There are also logical slots for Suzuka in April, June, September and December.

that's a good way to think of it 'just passing through'.

Another thing to think about as well, is if the cost for Revelation to release new volumes that quickly was hitting their finance pretty hard.

It could have been a lot worse. it could have been a longer gap in between releases.

If you look at the list 'just passing through' made, it actually seems quite logical to me.

I have no doubts that it makes perfect economic sense but from a consumer point of view it could be very painful, especially if you were only collecting/interested in a small amount of anime which you could easily afford. This could very easily be a side-effect of Revelation's aggressive pricing and release strategy or possibly an indication of saturation in the UK market. Certainly a slower rate of release does give more consumers the chance to pick up titles at a rate they are more likely to be able to afford but there is the chance that the slower release rate will put some consumers off committing to such a long schedule. Remember that some people complain about bi-monthly releases, even as it stands. What those same people will think of quarterly releases is anybody's guess.

I can see both sides of the argument but personally I prefer the current rate to the slower quarterly presented here.
