Finally! Someone else who thought Mary and the Witch's Flower was not so great - I couldn't stand how silly the characters and their actions at the school were portrayed, it just went downhill fast, from an interesting anime to some inane Saturday morning cartoon for kiddies. I was super-disappointed in MatWF because I love Yonebayashi's Marnie (now my #1 favorite Ghibli movie, overtaking Nausicaa's spot) and I also liked Arrietty quite a bit, too (top 12 Ghibli).
