Production I.G. picked up an award in the "cel animation" category at the recent "London International Advertising Awards" for <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=1551">Kazuto Nakazawa's</a> animated advert "<a href="http://www.liaentries.com/winners/?id_medium=6&id_category=0&view=details&range=w&page=1&keyword=&medium=&category=&award=&country=&title_brand=&credits=&company_name=&city=">Asience: Hairy Tale (stream)</a>" (animated for "Asience" shampoo).

Nakazawa's worked on a number of high-profile projects over the years, most notably the animated sequence in Kill Bill, but also character design and chief animation for Samurai Champloo. Nice to see Production I.G. winning acclaim - they definitely deserve it!

Nakazawa worked with Studio 4°C, rather than I.G., on "Comedy", right? Comedy is great, btw!

Yup, Comedy was animated/produced for a Studio 4C. I wish they'd release a full movie in Nakazawa's style (he's clearly a brilliant artist) but I guess they have to think about the bottom line too. I think he produced a new short for their upcoming "Genius Party" anthology (along with a bunch of other brilliant anime directors, including the ever awesome Shinichirō Watanabe).

But, are you sure Nakazawa's style would suit a feature length movie? I don't think so - not to say that he isn't very talented, but I think his work is better suited to short stories.
